Any lifts available for the new '03 4runners?

 

I know, it is too low to the ground ... I don't know why Toyota put all this effort into 4WD technology in a vehicle that can barely hop up curb without scraping its undercarraige.

As of yet, I haven't heard of anything. I think that may take a little longer. There seems to be some complicated front suspension components (XReas) that may prevent anyone from taking this project on anytime soon.

Not only that, but due to the CV angles this pretty much limits the lift ability to around 2" above stock ... this will put the 2003 4Runner at a whopping 11" (which is already the stock height of the previous generation of 4Runners).

 

I just happened to be surfing and found out that Daystar and Revtek both have lift kits out (or coming out) for the 03 4Runner.

The Daystar 2.5" lift will run around $285 ... I'm not sure about the Revtek 3" lift, most likely between $350 - $400.

I saw them at Rocky Mountain Suspension.

I just hope that OME makes some springs and Bilstein makes some shocks for em soon... that's prob the setup that I'd love to go.

Ofcourse I'm also thinking about the ATS upper A-arms too but I know that's on the long run. I just want some decent height back on the 4runner and also be able to run some 285's. It can't be that much to ask!

also i'd like to be one of the first to have a lifted 03 4runner w/ 285's runnin down the street showing off my new plastic underside! hehe those things are friggin ugly but all i can say is those car doors are no match for the nice plastic now!!! ding away fools!

 

i bet the Daystar kit wont work, they prob just assumed it would not knowing everything changed.

 

ok, i have taken a look around the forums and it seems that there is still a dearth of suspension lifts available for the 03 4runners. it appears that there are a few spacer-type lifts out there, but i prefer coilover/shock, any dissenters? OME is still the suspension of choice (or for that matter ANYONE who will make a coilover/shock suspension...aaaarrggghhh).

anyone gotta lead for a lift-starved guy?

96-03 4-Runner 2.5" KT09106 $285 --- so this kit by Daystar is most likely not valid for the '03?

 

I actually just talked to Rocky Mountain Susp. and they said it is valid because the spring size hasnt changed even though the suspension has, so the daystar spacers would work i guess...

 

Really ?!? So I guess Daystar duped me into believing that I have their prototype lift for the 4th Gens...

I don't mean to come off as a smarta$$, but I have been working with Daystar directly to get their spacer lift for the 4th Gens tested and on the market since February. The primary reason for the delay is Toyota's use of the same front-end (and most likely frame\suspension components) on the new Taco. Daystar is attempting to leverage their investment in R&D and machining to get the new lift on the market for both the new Taco and the 4Runner. Unfortunately in true Toyota fashion, they have been hiding the new Taco from the public, therefore causing the delay in development.

To give you just a bit more info. Daystar actually used the Sequoia lift as the basis for the 4th Gen prototype lift.

well maybe you do have the prototype and the woman i spoke to on the phone had no idea what she was talkin about...lol....i mainly called to see if that 96-03 range was correct and that was her response to me....so who knows

 

spring size is different guys....
a quick visual inspection will show that the 3rd gen is diff from the 4th gen. our springs are actually abit thicker and off the tundra series. the shock travel is the same as the 3rd gen though but we just have the 3" extension on the bottom. as for the top place, that's a new redesign. also the upper a-arm and the lower arms are new along with the sway bars.
