I have a 95 4runner SR5 with 31x10.5R15s on there... stock rims.

on the door it says on 225/75R15 (STOCK) use 26psi in the front and 35 in the back. so now that i have 31's... what should i run?

run a psi that allows them to wear evenly. Seems like that's typically between 30 and 35 psi, but it depends on the tire.

I run 32psi up front, 35psi in the rear.

 

I have ran 32 to 35 PSI in 31" tires since '90, and I get even tread wear.

I currently am running 35 PSI an all of my tires.

 

I'm running 35psi as well in all four tires and I have even tread wear (31x10.5" BFG AT's).

 

It depends on the tire and what rating it is...

I have Michellin LTX AT's 235 x 75 x 15...

Their max load is 50 psi.... I try to keep radials close to their posted limit.... I typically run 45 and 45....

Do a search on tire pressure... I answered some body's post a while back and had a lengthy discussion about this...

i run 28-32 psi in all 4, tires wear well even though the alignment is shot.. 235/75/r15 bfg ats

 

mine are 31 psi all around i think. tread seems to be even. think i might bring it up a little though if i get a chance.

 

Same for me, except I'm running 32x11.5 BFG AT KO's...

 

I run 38 PSI front and 40 PSI rear. After lots of playing with the pressures those were the best settings as far as a compromise for fuel mileage and ride comfort for my truck.

 

what kind of driving do you do? how are you in the turns?

Im freakin nuts in turns...

I have a 94. Mostly city driving and my offroad driving is in the sand. Less pressure gives a nicer ride but acceleration was sluggish and mileage sucked. Of course my last car was a Mustang 5.0 with lots of mods so what others call firm may seem sloppy to me. Any more pressure in the tires and I really feel the bumps and the back hops on big dips. A better compromise was 36 front 38 rear but I filled my tires a while back and now the weather is much warmer so I adapted to the slightly higher pressures over time and like them even more.

Remember a "floatation" tire by design normally utilizes less pressure then a regular road tire....

Hey RICK F, Yep I feel all the bumps in the road. For me and my "expensive" tires, I would rather replace the shocks (OEM Replacements)....

Save a little more money...........:confused:
