another one askin about exhaust....

i know there has been a lot about which exhaust and stuff but i still couldnt find what i was looking for. im probably going to get a magnaflow after reading the other threads and a friend's recomendation. i just need a comparison between the magnaflow 14" body and 18" body. i want an exhaust that is not too loud yet not too quiet. i have read some where that the 18incher was very quiet. does any one think that the 14" magnaflow will be too loud for parents who hate noise? (my dad rides with me and he dont drive) im gonna do the exhaust on 94 pickup with the 3.0 in my school. so id hate to find out ill need to put it back when its too loud and regret having something too quiet.

Yes, i did check out corey's page, which is great and helped me alot, but my speakers will be completly different from the real thing.

because i have a pickup, and assuming the loudest part will be at the exhaust tip, will it be much quieter in the cab where the tip is at the end of the pickup bed than a 4runner where its at the cab??

thanks for any help!!!

I'm not really sure about the magna flows, but I had a 91 pu with the 3.0 and I did a cat and back on it. It started with a new high flow cat, then 2 and 3/4" pipe into a flowmaster and coming out in the stock location. It sounded great and it wasn't too loud but it had a nice throaty sound to it.

Not too bad I suppose. The 2nd gens are not really known for being really quiet it the cab in the first place I suppose. It was definetly louder than stock but it was very tollerable. When you are buying any of the aftermarket mufflers like magna flow, flowmaster, borla, etc... I don't think that any of them are very quiet. It's hard to explain the noise level but to give you an example, I could still hear music pretty well from the 2 4" speakers, or carry on a conversation just fine. People always told me that it was loud from the outside, but it never really seemed that loud to me from the inside.

I've got a Downey system. Without the noise maker tip its actually pretty quiet. Not too bad of an install either, but the instructions where vauge for the PU and you have to do some pipe cutting.
