To me it looks more like it would constrict the air, but I may be totally wrong, what do the Gurus say?

you could probably make one for free and see if it works...but it probably doesnt

 

the theory behind it is sound. More turbulant air makes for better air/fuel mixing which leads to better conbustion = more power. but the turbulant air needs to happen AFTER you add the fuel to it. (dosent help if beat the dry cake mix to death, then turn the mixer off when you add the eggs)

Inshort, you wont find me coughing up 20 bucks for it. i dought you would see any change at all either way.

 

Try it and see, whats the worst that could happen? You won't get the results they say and then you could turn around and resell it to someone else if you aren't happy... For 20 bucks if it saves you even a little MPG then it will pay for itself in no time... Especially if this huricane does what they are saying it could do...

 

I had a Hilux TBS... basically did the same thing... just made a whistling sound. And i think it gave like 2 more hp and possibly a loss on the MPG although it could have just been my foot.

And snap-on has a good point. Because Toyotas add fuel at the end of the intake manifold, creating turbulent air in the intake tube likely wont have an effect.

 

I don't see any difference between this and the Tornado gimmick.

Toss around a lot of big words and you'll fool half the people looking into it.

 

Dont waist your money I Had a similar tornado thing in my 95 pickup 3.0 V6 when I bought the vehicle,, I found it and said hmmm then removed it and got better mileage, so it theoretically makes the air vortex, just something else restricting flow from point A to point B. So I sold it on ebay and got $20 haa what a world.

I would say to save the money for the gas since you will be burning money more efficiently.

Actually if you take an empty beer can and cut it up you can make your own for testing purposes. Might have to experiment with a few till you get it right. Don't use full beer cans, as it voids the actual purpose of the excercise - which is an excuse to empty some beer cans...

 

First rule of economics...the Market sets the price !

If it really worked, it would be a lot more than $20.

I really do not see how the air currents, after going through that, can keep the swirling motion considering the fact that they are going through another tube that is accordion-shaped with ridges, and then through bends. There is no logical reason for it to continue the swirl that distance.

Hence my opinion of it being a gimmick. Just my two cents.

 

just last week i saw tests of a bunch of the more popular scams out there that claim such great fuel savings. not sure if it was some gear head show or a spot from consumer reports. big flash--they didn't work. not one.

keep in mind, toyota spends millions of bucks a year to develop maximum efficiency. don't you think if a cut can would increase gas mileage by 1/3 they cut the can?

besides, if this thing worked as claimed, they wouldn't be selling it on ebay!

funny thing is that popular mechanic just did a whole bunch of dyno testing for these kind of devices and found that no changes to hp or fuel economy were made. you can read the article in the most recent issue i believe
