Airaid MIT

Got the Airaid MIT that I scored from my buddy for $15 installed today.

I did it in like 15 minutes. Had a few instructional problems but I just used some common sense and I figured it out in no time.

Definite increase in throttle response, I'm not sure if I've really opened her up (hit 4k today) but there isn't any noticeable difference in the sound, course I do have the Vortex muffler that probably drowns out a lot of the noise.

I'll listen carefully next time to see if I can hear any difference.

Overall, good mod, especially for $15 haha! Just gotta find a place to stick my Airaid sticker, supposedly that is what really boosts the throttle response...who knew?!

Looks good! I want one too, but I don't want to spend $80 on it. So it doesn't make a lot of noise?

If you do the deckplate mod or open up you airbox in any way it will be loud.
If you leave your airbox alone then you will not notice a difference.

I don't have the deckplate mod. Did you notice any difference in gas mileage?

I don't keep track of my gas milage very often so I can't comment, but I did notice better power going up to the mountains with the airaid+open airbox.

I have the deckplate and Airaid and there is no noticeable volume difference during my normal driving, I hardly ever get it going more than 3k on the tach when I'm just driving around town...last night I really opened her up and got it up near 4-4.5k and could hear it pretty well but it wasn't a bad sound, just sounded like there was a vacuum in the hood...which is just about accurate

I'm trying to justify a reason to spend the money on an MIT. Better gas mileage, more power or better throttle response... so far the only thing I can come up with is that it looks cool.

Better throttle response for sure...I don't think paying the regular price for an MIT is worth it, I would HIGHLY suggest doing the ISR mod though...MMMUUUCCCHHH cheaper and you get the same EXACT results.

I nkow about the ISR mod. I've considered it, but I am looking for a cheap MIT. They are nowhere to be found on ebay.

I agree, the thing I like about the Airaid the best is that it is 100% reversible if I don't like it or if I sell the rig (heaven forbid).

I looked on Ebay for over 2 months and found nothing...I lucked out and used my buddies lack of knowledge about Runners to score mine for $15, good luck bro.
