whats the easiest way to adjust the coilovers?

leave em on the truck or take them completely off and adjust?

 

I was able to adjust my old SAWs while still on the truck. I did pull the front tires off so I had room to work.

 

Same with my Donahoes. Jack up the truck and take off the tires. You can adjust them that way.

You pretty much have to do it on the truck, depending on how much you are adjusting. If you did them off the truck you wouldnt be able to get them back in very easy

i should have some pictures of my truck up soon after i jack up the front a bit more.

its finally done!

 

couldnt get the coilovers to crank up.

sprayed the threads with WD40 and still nothin.

any ideas?

 

Maybe a silly question but did you loosen the set screw on the adjustment collar? That is assuming the King's have one like the SAWs.

X2.... Also let the axle hang so that there is no tension on spring/shock... Don't for get to tighten screw after adjusting.. donahoes are pretty easy to adjust

 

The chances of you being able to loosen the set screw and adjust the springs are going to be slim. I've got the same shocks and tried to adjust them on the truck. You'll spend more time trying to get the adjuster to turn (since space is limited) or you'll damage it. It's much easier to just remove the shock. Re-install two of the 3 bolts in the top and flip it over and mount it in a vise (clamping down on the two bolts you re-installed) This way is much easier. I know removing the shocks seems like more work, but time wise they are very similar. Good Luck.
