i don't think you want add-a-leafs for 2 or 3 in of lift, that would make your rear sit REALLY high compared to the front. you may just look into a set of stock leafs to replace the ones you got. I know there are also some aftermarket companies that make leafs for stock height (but I can't remember their names right now..)
bump for the turning/springs question.

It'll help but it will make the ride rougher. I have the same problem but decided to hold out for new springs instead (Old Man Emu for me). You can also try extended shackles but either that or AAL still leaves you with the underlying problem of old worn out springs. It is tempting though to get such a cheap fix, even temporarily. I think Downey also makes replacement springs too as well as a few others. I kind of forget now cuz I pretty much put it out of my mind since I decided on the OME. Good luck.

do you really think 2" will make it that much higher cuz there is at least 1" of sag? I want something cheap cuz i want to get a lift in a year or 2 and i don't want to have spent a lot on the fix now.

no, nothing needs to ne done to the drive shaft. The ride will be rough, especially with no weight in the bed. I have them and they are stiff but not rough. I suppose its because I have a bit of weight back there!

You can get a Pro Comp AAL (Add-A-Leaf) for a under 30 bucks. http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...Ntt=add+a+leaf
If that's cheap to you, and your tired of the sag, go for it. If its not really that big of a deal, and you would be more frustrated with a *little* stiffer suspension, then look for oem, or you could get longer rear shackles.
My rig was literally sitting completly on my overload springs. I had no travel and I bottomed out on everything so the AAL is fanstatic, and my ride is MUCH softer, but my case was extream

When I first got my 86 4runner the rear sat really low. I installed longer shackles and it sat level, but since it was sitting on the overload springs the ride was still bad, it kept hitting the bumpstops. I installed an add a leaf, I left the overload spring off since my U bolts were too short. I ended up with about 3 inches of lift and the ride is much better. Now the rear sat higher than the front, I installed balljoint spacers and now have about 3 inches all around... SWEET!!! Go for it!

That scarey noise when you turn the steering wheel to the lock and hit any sort of bump isnt a spring. Its the little steering stops that are on the spindles rubbing on the spindle itself. Stock thay had some sort of plastic cap on them to kill the noise but after time thay all wear out. Try using a bit of grease on the little steering stoppers or just pick up some replacments. Dont worry all the early toy IFS trucks do it with time.

no it's not when the wheel hits the stop it is when i turn hard then drive and and the truck twists a little. it sound like old squeeky stars when you walk on them (but a lot louder) and it is comming out of the back of the truck.
