aarrrgh! CEL

So,my truck threw a CEL and I noticed the doo-hickey that buzzes every time you shut the truck off is buzzing more than normal (I was told it was normal) since I noticed the CEL;are they most likely associated maybe?

My mechanic will be getting a look at it on Monday.

What's a CEL, maybe my brain is just clogged right now.

Get a code reader, and figure out yourself - I just got one on ebay, $40, and it works great. Works on all OBDII ('96+) vehicles.
Lots better than paying a mechanice $75 to plug in his code reader.

Pardon the highjack, but what exactly is that thing that buzzes and why does it buzz?

I think the buzz sound is coming from an emission's piece is my guess by it's looks and it just make short little buzzes for a bit after the car is shut off.

Fortunatly the diagnosis won't cost me anything since this mechanic sponsored my Eclipse and still gives me freebies for the business I brought them.

buzzing is charcoal canister. Dont' know what the hell it does, but you can replace it with a non-buzzing one for like 20-30 bucks or somethin.

I'm just too cheap to do it.

I have plenty of friends with modded Hondas so I know what CELs are.

I modded the piss out of my Eclipse and with OBDI the only time it threw a CEL was when I started it with the turbo removed.
