Does anybody with a 2wd 4runner have pics of their runner after swapping their coils for the 99 4wd coils?

Does anybody know where to get the coils and how much they would be?

 

The rear springs (Part#48231-35210) are $53.24 each.

The front left spring (Part#48131-35350) is $70.79.

The front right spring (Part#48131-35400) is $70.79.

nc994run has a set for $100 shipped if you look down a little bit in that forum.... not a bad deal knowing shipping will be expensive...

Will I have to swap out my shocks in order to put on the taller coils?

How long do the coils last because one member has a set with 45k on them. My stock suspension has 55k.

 

NO you dont have to swap out your shocks especially since you have 55k, I have 150K+ on my shocks and coils and theyre fine.

Another question forgive me if this is common sense. I am assuming the 99 4wd coils are taller than the 01-02 4wd drive coils(that is why everyone wants 99)....so, does that mean the 01-02 4wd coils are the same height as the 01-02 2wd coils?

I took the stock coils off of my '99 4wd limited, if your looking to buy. they are just sitting in storage. PM if your intreasted.

 

So the 99s and 2000s have a 9 coil. If I replace my front coils (I have a 2000 4runner) with some OME or TRDs will I get less lift than an 01-02?

 

'01+ Runners sit even lower from the start but the lift will be the same on any Runner with OME or the such coils.

 

it seems that as of late, people are asking a lot about swapping coils and heights and what not. and from reading all these posts, i have noticed that people are becoming confused. just try to keep in mind that:

1) spacers build up on what you already have (a truck with 99 coils and spacers will be higher than a truck with other years because you are starting with 1 extra wrap and adding the same spacer in)

2) if replacing coils with tundra, ome, or lc's....then FORGET WHAT IS IN THERE NOW! you will get whatever the new item's specs are because you are removing what you had. on a swap, everything goes back to being equal.

 

I was not sure if just the front of a 2000 sat higher (9 coil spring) or if they had a taller spring in back to match.

 

I have been looking at 99 coils lately myself since my wife has asked me to lower the 4runner a bit for her. So I started researching them and pricing and found this post (among others) but the P/N is wrong for the rears in the original post, I corrected it in red above. Just so people like me coming along after don't get confused.

 

I just replaced my coils and shocks with new Toyota parts and my GF still comments about the height when she gets in it. She's just used to her street queen '04 GC. (the V8 is nice tho')

Don't ask me why the left and right fronts are different prices!?
....doesn't make sense but that's what I was quoted.

 

Can 99 Springs be considered a lift option for an 02?

 

It's definetly an improvement especially if you go up to 265/75 tires.

 

After reading this thread, I'm a little confused. I am about to order the OME system with heavywight springs up front and medium in the rear. Am I going to get any lift since I already have the 99 springs? Thanks.

Also, anyone know if this combo allows 285/75s?
