'97 auto tranny question

'97 3.4 auto. Do these tranny's have any kind of adjustment? When we come to a stop it feels like the tranny catches up with the truck half a second later. I can feel some slop there. It only has 72K miles on it and has been serviced by the dealer religiously. Thanks.

No real adjustments, for down shifting that I know of......sounds like drive train looseness.Lube that drive shaft especially where it splines(most places are really lazy about that when you get a oil/lube)...I would do a total flush with synthetic. It will firm up the trans a bit under all conditions.Other than that without codes I am not sure.

Nothing externally except the kick down/shift delay cable at the throttle body. You may want to find a reputable transmission shop and have them check it over for codes, pressure port readings and cable adjustment plus converter stall test. If nothing is found, check rear drive shaft and all joints for excess wear. There is a business that advertises on the internet that reworks your transmission valve body for crisp shifts and better overall shifting from the A340 automatic transmissions. About $700 for the service but I read its really awesome.
