96' 2WD Runner w/oil leak

Howdy Guys, need some advice here: I have an oil leak that is coming from somewhere that finds its way onto my exhaust system, causing a smokey mess once the engine gets warmed-up. I believe that both valve covers are the source. My Runner has 210K miles on it.

My main question is, are there any other typical places that this engine is prone to develop leaks from that make their way onto the exhaust system? Assuming that the leaks are from the valve covers what is typically the cost for a non-dealer garage to make the repair(s)? (I don't have the spare time to DIY the valve cover gaskets, etc.).

Let's say a garage determines that the leaks are indeed coming from the valve covers, are there any other items that I should have them replace since all of the fuel injection plenum stuff, etc. will be off to access the covers? I.e., spark plugs, wires, etc.

Thanks Much!

Greg
