95 Tacoma 3.4L -TRD Supercharger? Help.

Ok...did several searches on here for this and haven't come up with any solutions.

Have a 1995.5 Tacoma v6 3.4 liter / 5 spd with 90k original miles. I know there is a TRD supercharger for the 1997 and later tacoma v6's, but something about early 95 & 96's ECU's are not compatible w/the TRD.

I'm old school (and old) -- can work on the bolt on parts of an engine, but not good with the electronic (like piggybacks, etc.)

1. Who knows what is needed to get the TRD S/C to work on the 95 tacoma? (looking for simplicity and reliability).
2. I've seen some of you getting new TRD's for $1500..heck even one guy got one for $1000 NEW. (See i've searched alot). Where do you find these good prices???

Thanks in advance.
Brian

I'm pretty sure URD's fuel kit will remedy the ECU problems, but does involve the use of a piggyback.

thanks for the reply..The URD fuel kit is $995 I recall....
What's involved w/the piggyback? I have absolutely no clue when it comes to wiring these up...or what the heck I would need to do. Can you buy the piggyback plug and play...or does it req wiring and setting up something on a laptop w/software?

sorry for the noob questions...like i said, i'm old school and not familiar w/the electronic end of the process.
thanks!

You have to replace the fuel pump, install and wire in larger injectors, wire in the piggyback. For optimum performance you'll need a wide band so you can tune the piggy back with a laptop.

If you call gadget at URD they are very helpful. I accidentally ordered the wrong part and they were good enough to call me and double check so they could refund my money. I bought the URD 7th Injector Kit for my supercharger it is very easy to "Bolt On". they have great tech support and can give you answers to any question you might have that will involve the S/C. the "piggyback" is basically just a computer for the fuel system it just plugs in almost. not hard at all.

I hope someone on the forum has a '95 or '96 Tacoma 3.4l that already did this and is willing to share. The piggyback with splicing wires really scares me.

Yeah there are a few guys on here that have put a SC on a 96 5VZ. The URD instructions are very good, but it is major surgery on your wiring harness. Here's some pics of the surgery on mine, (note the plywood operating table):
