looks kinda rusty to me. my roomates frame was like swiss cheese in the rear, here is his solution

Its hard to tell.

Get a screwdriver, and poke at the frame. If it goes through, it's bad.

know whats crazy, everything is rusted except the muffler. my truck has absolutly no rust on it , but the muffler was completly rusted with holes everywhere, i couldnt even smog it!!!!

Bang it with a hammer, seriously. If it sounds solid it probably is, if it dents or goes through it is not. I agree it looks rusty in the pics, but up here in the rust belt it's pretty much the norm.
