Could I use a 4Runner tailgate on my pickup? My tailgate is SHOT, I like how the 4Runner tailgates look, can I use one of them instead??? I know the glass would either take some work, but I could use it without the glass....what do you guys think???

 

I don't know if it would physically fit, but if it did why would you want one on your pick up? The inside is of the gate is carpeted and has plastic pieces, first off it would get all wet and messed up and second it is way thicker.

Can you get on cheap or something because it wont last half as long as the normal tailgate getting all wet and stuff.

 

You can make anything work with a hammer.

I don't think it would work without a lot of modification. The latch pins are in different places on the trucks and 4Runners. Also, as stated above, the 4Runner tailgate is substantially thicker.

 

I have seen a 1st gen 4runner, pretty beat-up, running around Ann Arbor, Mi. with a PU tailgate on it. It was all "custom" complete with plexigass rear window piano hinged to the door!
