4runner rear panel
hello,
My rear hatch is stuck closed on my 98 4runner. Can I get the rear hatch interior panel off with the hatch closed? It looks like the tabs around the edges won't be able to pop out when its closed.

Have you tried pushing on the hatch door as you pull the release handle? My wife got something stuck in the door and the door did not want to open since there was too much tension on the release. I pushed on the door and it came open. Took out the offending item, and back to good. I am not saying that this is your issue, but might help you open the door though.
