I just bought a 2002 4Runner Limited and am having trouble using the rear door. I'm sort of short and not very strong, so when I'm ready to close the door I can barely reach the door to close it. Is there a way to limit how high the rear door comes up, so that I could reach it more easily to close it?

 

Doesn't it have a little strap attached to the inside of the door? That's what it's used for.

Not to offend you, but how tall are you? Unless your rig is lifted, it shouldn't be a problem for the average height male.

Wow, I had just the opposite problem. I had to lift the truck so I could walk under the hatch when it was open. Even at 3 inches of lift I sometimes hit my head.

 

Could always bring a milk crate along with you.
