4Runner...the modding saga....(PICS)
It wasn't long ago my 4Runner was like every other one in this city (to see a modified 4Runner of any sort is a rare sight). I took it upon myself to make the vehicle more to my liking...I couldn't find a Limited with diff-lock a roof rack...a hitch...flares and all the other bell's and whistles at the time of purchase so I bought a nice low mileage SR5. I have since then converted mine from a SR5 to a full limited including diff-lock...flares....LTD interior...4:30gears and other items that needed to be switched. From stock till now here's a few pics. I am now debating an ARB bumper or the SS 1.2 first....both projects are on high piority!!
STOCK
Getting there....
Missing SS 1.2 & 33's
Hitch is out for powder coating...i'm addicted lol

I got the idea from my buddies that have EVERYTHING powder coated on their Tacoma & Land Cruiser. We get a real good deal we get so much done.

Yeah got factory woodgrain and door panels. I could of even got the body cladding for limited...but let's face it...that's a factory option...I seen too many hassels with trying to put them on properly...plus with rain/salt in the winter I didn't want my door's to rust cause I don't think you could ever get a factory seal.

Yeah, but i'll take my 99cent can of black spraypaint over powdercoating. It's a lot easier to touch up, when you actually scrape up something

Just a thought. Why not ditch the low hanging hitch and build a real back bumper and gain some ground clearance and off road protection? By the way your Runner is looking good.

Very nice what you have accomplished-would love to see a link to the door panels or an interior shot.

There actually Xenon Sport Flares. They give more protection then Toyota flares...and I didn't want the hassel of the Bushwacker. The Xenons look factory its a 10 piece kit and its actually only made for 4Runner's without running boards and they costed me about 300$ CDN. All the holes on the Xenon flares match up to the factory holes in the fender of the truck.

Good idea, another project for the future....right now I kind of want a front bumper just due to the amount of wild life I encounter on the way out to the cabin. I've already had a collision with a deer a few years back that did a good 4G's to my front end. Just a few weeks back I counted over 30 deer along the side of the road on the way out to the lake. Plus ordering big items like bumpers is a challenge on its own living in Canada...hard to get large heavy item's shipped up here.
