I would guess that it is an aftermarket leather conversion, and they had the seat covers done custom with the embroidery.

what makes it weird (that the person required an aftermarket solution) is that that rig has just over 30k miles on it.

How do you know they didn't have cloth from the factory and decided to upgrade to leather? No replacement necessary, just wanted leather instead of cloth.

That's easy to do. When I order my rear seat covers from Wet Okole, I'm going to get some extra material and do the door panels and armrests as well. It's just a few bolts/screws, glue and a couple of staples.

My FJ80 had an aftermarket leather upgrade installed prior to me buying it. It included the seats, door panels and arm rests as well. So the kits do exist.

I've done two leather conversions. One on a T100 with Katzkin leather, I did that myself, and my latest one on a Tacoma. Both kits included all the seats, and door panels, and you could get custom embroidery. I haven't see one where the center console top was included, but you could just get a scrap and use the 3m adhesive they use on the door panels.
