Thankd Bama for my options hmmmm lets see yes sas would be cool but not my cup of tea thats what my International Scout is for, yes yes I see it now limiting straps it is!!! Cause as I'm figuring it a set of cv's would be slightly more than straps. And no Steve I know you wouldnt sell anyone something they didnt need , so hard to pass sarcasm within text.

I too am running the pp springs with hd bilstiens. they brought my runner up about 1.5"s above stock. actual lift for my runner was 3.5" in front and 5" in the rear. yeah the old springs were toast. I am considering adding 1" or 2" spacers next with a diff drop kit of course to save the cv's.

im running fagtech basics. havent run anything else, so nothing to compare to. theyre somewhat stiff i suppose...but the suspension has worked well for me thus far. the stiffness seems to match well with my ome890+procomp shocks outback. with the wabfab's disconnected, i get better independent travel. only thing holding me back front end performance wise is lack of a front locker.

once im ready for new front suspension, ill try out the trd tundra setup. hopefully i can just skip that step and go solid up front.

Speaking of Fabtech My brothers 6" system just fell out on the drivers side while he was just driving along.

naaaah, that'll buff right out. just use some duct tape to put the wheel back on when you're done and you'll be good to go.

care to tell the story? looks to me like you lost all the bolts in the lower ball joint, then the spindle jumped off, the tire went back into the firewall, where it promptly bent the fender, snapped off the upper ball joint, but not before jamming the upper arm into the upper shock mount as it bent it to hell and back.

correct?

also, if that is what happened, that's what they make blue & red locktite for...

i'm just glad you weren't hurt...

You know what is freaking scary, besides, me. My upper ball joints were seconds away from that when they were removed for the Dana 44.

It was not the pin that was going, but the ball was pulling out of the base. Big time.

If you wheel IFS, and IFS works fine, just be sure to be up on your maintenance and inspections.

look at that upper arm steve, that wasn't an upper joint failure. that was a lower joint disconnect while driving, bending the upper arm after the tire was dragged backwards. that's the only way that i can see that upper arm being bent like that.

I knew you 2 would love those pics. If you have a brother then you might understand unless of course your the wilder of the two. Supposedly he was just driving along at 45 mph and hit a speed bump and the rest is history. As you pointed out Bama only 2 of the studs were snapped butable to be backed out by hand the other 2 lost somewhere. Austin just I dunno, how to tell you sometimes I wonder. He and a tech friend from 4wheelfarts did the lift came out good but he must not have stayed up on the maint. part of it. OMG what next his luck sucks but he doesnt help it any by pretending to not so smart cause thats not the case at all. Fabtech took a few looks at the pics and said there is a spacer in there they didnt supply so it wasnt covered. ˟˟˟˟ we thought so insurance is the next line up for the repair on this carnage. It breaks my heart but what can you do?

I'm not encourageing it, I've done more than my share of them and don't want to do anymore. But, a Dana44 would get rid of all the broken parts...........

It's also alot easier on a Tacoma. It's alot of work an absurd amount of work, but all that broken stuff would be gone.
