3rd gen headlights
just wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket company making replacement headlights with projectors?
i've been looking on ebay for a while and there seems to be a replacement projector light for every pos car and truck under the sun out there but not for the 3rd gen 4runners. Theres a wide range of choice for the 4th gens too (black, halo, etc.)....
besides making your own projector retrofit, which is time consuming and expansive) anyone know of after market replacements with projectors?
Thanks

lame. anyone know the names of the companies making these lights for dodge neons and f series trucks? i'll email them and ask if they can make one for the 3rd gen 4runners or at least ask why they don't make one...would prolly sell better then the crap they do make em for.

When I had an 02 4Runner I'd say I sent about 10 to 15 different emails to the companies that made them. Never got a reply.. If you want projectors you'll have to do a retro or pay someone else on the forums to do it for you.

retro fits are more fun anyways... It's so "man" and american... "I just crammed these two things together to make something better" except with a little more finess

Currenlty, doing a retro is your only option. Plus, if you do your research, it's really not that difficult to complete. I just completed my first retro...before that, I had ZERO knowledge of of how to do something of the sort.
You said retros are time consuming and expensive, but if you think about it, they are not. Yes my retro was time consuming (simply b/c I had very, very little time to work on it), but had I not had a million other things going on, I could have easily completed it in a week or so.
Expensive, well not in my case. My retro came to a wopping $285. Think how much aftermarket projector headlights would end up costing...especially if you wanted quality stuff. Which in most cases, many aftermarket companies are just out to make a quick buck, thus the quality of the parts they use are very poor. Remember, you pay for what you get.
Besides, even if you picked up a good quality set of aftermarket projector headlights, you would still have to purchase the HID bulbs, ballasts and necessary wiring to complete the retro. That could get expensive.
IMO, I'll take a more time consuming route if it saves me money and offers me something unique that not everyone has. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix for projector headlights. If there was, everyone would have them...

Normally for Toyota's, the best way to search for replacments, is to search for Hilux Surf parts/aftermarket replacments as the market is MASSIVE for the Surf's compared to the 4runner aftermarket support.
