Sheesh fancy picture man you just one upped me with a diagram, very nice! Your diagram shows the rear 12v power which my fridge lives on

I have an inverter that uses a 12v plug but it doesn't draw near enough power to run some applications I have not does the wiring support the load. Like runner up said 0 or 1 Ga. wire is appropriate especially if I run my semi truck inverter which can operate power tools.

KZN185W, your picture is a bit deceiving. The stock power inverter is actually on the right side panel of the cargo area...not in the tailgate as the picture would lead you to believe.

For more reference, that 12v power is on the panel next to Aaron's fridge as pictured above.

Does anyone have any idea how long these inverters can last on a truck that sees a lot of washboard roads and other bumpy stuff? Would rubber mounting grommets or other type of vibration isolators provide any protection?

Higher end units should last for some years to come, like everything else you get what you pay for.

I have seen another install like this one, can't find it right now.

However, the guy actually took apart his inverter and used the outlets on it, and mounted them in the same place. He also took the power switch and the led on it and extended the wires and mounted the power switch on his dash in an empty switch spot.

I want to do this install like this guy did because it looks very clean, I am just worried about where to mount the unit and heat problems with mounting inside the cetner console. BTW my inverter is 750 watts, black and decker, and it comes apart very easy for a clean install.
