3.4 s/c and gas

Hey guys,

Selling my S/C Tundra for a 4 runner outright. Question is if I were to add the s/c and 7th what kind of gas am I looking at? What can you get with a full tank and how big is the tank? Take it Im coming from a 26.2 gallon tundra that gets about 340 a tank with 285's. Let me know all is appreciated.

Oh if you didnt know already, im an idiot for the aftermarket. TRDKEAU

In both my supercharged 3rd gens, I usually get about 280 miles per tank. On road trips I have gotten as much as 340 miles on a tank.

I am doing well when I get over 200 miles per tank. What size tires and gears are you running Gadget?

Most recently, I achieved 23 MPG uphill for 110 miles. I average 22-23 on the highway and 17-19 in town. That's with a supercharged 3rd gen rolling on 285s.

Jim, something's not right there... Did you regear AND SC? From what I've read, a SC w/ stock gears and 285's with a moderate to light foot will get 20+ easily on the highway and about 17-18 around town.

Yea, I think I might of missed typed a bit there.

That is what I was getting on both truck BEFORE those big ass tires on the 96. I have a set of 4.56 gears waiting to go in, just can't get to it. If I don't beat on it I can still get about 230 miles per tank on that truck cruising, but that was before I mashed in my fuel tank. With the new high clearence fuel tank, I get about 150 miles per tank...

I have a S/C with 4.30's, 285's on Steel Wheels, Full Belly Pan Skid Plate, ARB Prado Bumper, M8000 winch, 100+ lbs of sliders...so I am carrying some extra weight.

Seemed like I had A LOT better economy on the VA gas I used when I was down there. Now back in Jersey, It sucks again. I forgot what I worked the MPG to, I think it was around 22 on VA gas , And if I drive the same here with our gas, it just sucks.

There is different gas formulations by regions and sometimes even states. The gas up where you are my be more oxygenated then the gas down here. The more oxygenated it is the less fuel economy you will get from it.

This is supposed to reduce emmissions around big cities and such, but you burn more gas so I wonder if overall you are poluting more???

S/C'd, no fuel mods, 285s w/ stock wheels and 4.88s and I am getting ~300-320 miles per tank...as long as I am not a lead foot. Not as good as it was before the S/C but I am good with it.

I get around 280~300 miles per tank on 32" tires and not too much of an extra weight.

thanks for the replies crew. Your gas mileage represents what I get typically with a tundra and 10+ more gallons of fuel. I will be looking at a desert dune 4runner today. My White S/C is being handed over to a ts.com member, project 4 runner might be in the works.

Gadget, I will be in touch with you and Brian. Thanks Keau
