3.4 Conversion Help

I have a 93 4runner. Just had my third 3.0 V6 put in (in between 5,000 miles but under engine warranty), and the crankshaft just broke again . I'm feed up with this whole whimpy engine 3.0. I want to drop in a 3.4 V6 (I want to keep it Toyota) and I know Offroadsolutions offer a whole conversion kit. I think I'll do the kit because I want to know what I'm doing. Any other suggetions on how to do it right? I know I need to do a 2 inch body lift. Any help would be had. Thanks in advance. Oh any body have an engine for sale? Thanks.

hey man, i'm hoping to do the same thing real soon. There is a thread on here somewhere that is FULL of info on this swap. It would be VERY easy if your truck is already a manual, but if it isn't, I'd go ahead and convert it.

I am looking to do the same thing. I started a post last week. I was given this link. It has some really good info. Also, ModMan is real helpful, if you need any help just drop him an e-mail. TeamShiftPoint has done it a couple of times as well.

Keep us informed of your progress. Like I said before I am planning on doing this very same thing but don't know exactly when I will be able to get started...

Yeah it's a manual. I'd like to keep it that way and if possible fine a new tranmission (manual) cause mine is getting old.

Yeah, I've got a crack in it that I welded back abot two years ago. When I was stock I put my foot down a little quick shot off a small embankment and slamed my crossmember into my tranmission and subsquently my trans into my body. $600 for a new crossmember, lots of down time and a bead of metal later I was rolling again (should've bought like an all pro cover or something) (dosn't matter now cause I'm making my own). No there's nothing wrong with my trans, it just leaks fluid like a Jeep leaks oil.

That's funny. In other words, you can't keep fluid in it. Let me know if you want to get rid of it.
