2nd gen. tint match.
what have you guys done to your 2nd gen. runners to match the front windows to the rear. i want to do this, but..im afraid it would be a completely different color than the somewhat brown factory tint

Wow I was JUST thinking about this today, and I personally don't think it can be done with any accuracy. The tint on my truck is definitely brownish, I think the method they use to apply it can't really be duplicated with any sort of spray or lining...I'm not an expert, though.

well if it's anything like my 3rd gen, they say the factory tint is somewhere between 15 and 20 percent, like around 18. but i also heard it's above 20, but a couple different places said between 15 and 20 so i'll go with that. i got 15 on the front windows and from the inside it looks like a perfect match, and from outside it looks very similar, but if you look close you can tell the fronts are just slightly lighter. there's different shades of tint you can get...like smoke or charcoal or copper and who knows what else. so with all the options out there you should be able to get something pretty close to stock.

I went to a tinting shop call Sun Masters. They had a bronze tint. They only had 35% so we did two layers of 35%. It looked great. While we were at it I put a layer of 35% all the way around the smoked glass as well. Very nice. A friend of mine had a Red 93 with gray leather and his tint was silver. So I don't think they are all bronze.

my $.02
Yeah - I have to agree - I just slapped on 52% on the front doors and 14% on the rest. The bronze privacy glass is not apparent with the darker tint - and helps me keep my subs hidden in the back...
The brand that was used was Quantum (www.solargard.com) - lifetime warranty and a scratch resistance coating on the inside. Also - no bubbles and the finish came out great - highly recommend it (and I gotta plug the shop Mr. Tint in San Jose, CA).

I've got factory platinum in the back glass so I put platinum and limo on the rest.
It's not a direct match but it's pretty close. I don't think you will be able to get a direct match, but you should be able to do something close to it.
Oh yeah, my front side windows read 1.8%.

I paid $250 to have a layer of limo and platinum put on all the windows except the back two. That was hell hook-up though. My tint guy said he usually does platinum all the way around for $280. So you are probably looking at $200-250 for the whole thing.
