So, with the 5-speed it is NOT possible to acheive a rear 2-low? With my old truck I would just leave the front hubs unlocked sometimes to do this; obviously not an option on the fo-runna. Just need some clarification.

If you select 4lo and have a switch to stop the ADD engaging you'll have sort of 2lo. The front drive shaft will still be getting power, and the diff will be turning, but it won't send any power to the front wheels. All the power from the front diff should go to the disconnected side shaft. It would be the same as all the people with bad vacuum hoses, you select 4wd but only get 2wd.

Ian, I'll send you the wiring diagram for your 2000 tonight. I don't have a copy on my computer here at work.

this is what i am hoping to do i just need to get and look over a wiring diagram to see witch wire needs to be switched. then i will need to find a cool factory switch to wire up and put in a empty dash switch location.

as for the tank, Lance still has my prototype........ That project was put on hold till I get a few more bumpers built...... I also need to wire 220v in my garage so I can hook up my TIG welder, which will be needed to build the tank.

Should work on any year that has ADD and a t-case that can lock the power to front and read driveshafts.

Be warned that I had an IH Scout II and was wheelin' it on hard packed hills in 4 Low with the hubs unlocked (so basically 2Lo). I floored it going up a steep hill and it snapped the rear driveshaft in half. I would advise against lots of throttle in high-traction situations using the 2lo mod - torque multiplication is quite extreme.

What if you are running (or planning on running) an aussie locker in the front?

For my ADD, 4x4 button shift Taco this mod is cool! Gotta be the easiest mod, ever. Thanks!

You should then be able to unlock the manual hubs on your SFA....

Thanks for whoever figured this one out. I like to use 4lo when parking my boat, but I have to make a couple tight manouvers across my lawn to get it into the side yard around a tree. Anyway my lawn doesn't like 4wd and tight turns, so I usualy just go 4hi or park it with the Lancruiser in 2lo. This is good to know. Thanks.
