265/75/16's

I'll be upgraded from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 next time I get tires, (biggest that will fit on a 98 4x4 with stock 16" rims, right?) anyways, my question is, how much higher will my rig sit on the 75's over the 70's ?? I'm guessing only about an inch....

Probably about 1/2". The tire is only 1" taller.

Google "tire conversion" You get all kinds of calculators that will tell you the actual dimensions of the tires.

265/70 is ~30.7"
265/75 is ~31.7"
so you will be .5" higher, worth it?

Just a noticeable amount when you try to get in but not really something you notice looking at it from the outside.

if you have a 2" or under lift, it will definitely fill up the wheel well better than the stock size tires. wish i had a before/after shot but i dont:

this is w/ a PP 1" lift (actually 1.5") and w/ 265/75/16 Revos

Here is my rig with 265 75/18's on it.... I will sometimes get a front tire rub if hitting a good bump such as pulling in onto a curb into a driveway. But I plan on lifting it up 4-5inches total so that shouldnt be an issue in the future.

I will get a better picture soon.

Tirerack.com can give you specs for each manufacturer's tire size. I concur that you'll gain about 0.5" in vehicle height. I just replaced my 265/70/16's with 265/75/16's. Other than an unexpected drop in my CALCULATED fuel mileage, I don't think I'd have noticed otherwise if it had been done w/o my knowledge.

I went with a set of 275/70/16's on my 01 dub cab & have been pretty happy with them. They're just a tic wider than stock & not too much taller. I just didn't want to make the truck any doggier than it already is by getting a larger than stock diameter tire. No rubbing issues at all either. They fill the wheel wells out nicely too.

Where did you get 18" OEM wheels like that?

What brand of tires are you using? I'm thinking of replacing my LT285/75R16 tires with P-metric ones to reduce weight (LT's are 8-ply) but I don't want to get smaller than 32" tires.

Thanks.
