Help! Quick amp question.

Hi, I am installing a 800 watt kenwood amp into my 98 4runner to power 1 12" sub. Every time the amp turns on it blows both of the amps 30 watt fuses. I have gone through all of the wiring 3 times, nothing is grounding out, everything that I can tell is good. The only thing that I think that it could be is the headunit I am using does not have a power antenna wire, so I hooked it up to the remote turn on with the amplifier. Could this be it, or does anybody have any suggestions? I am going to take a gun to this thing for the next option. Thanks in advance.

I take the speaker wires off the amp, and the fuse still blows, right when the amp turns on. I know one of the audio buffs on here has to know what is happening.

Do you have your power running straight from the battery without a fuse? i would remove the power antennae from the same circuit( if i read that correctly) You can jump your remote off of the an Ign wire as long as your running a low amp fuse like 1.5A if i remember correctly( its been a few years). Or do it the easy way and wire a toggle in. Where is your amp grounded? it should be within 3 feet of the amp. How is your amp mounted is your heatsink groundout? make sure all your inline fuses are at rated amperage. If it still pops fuses take it back or send it back Dont rule out the possibility of a defect. Just throwing you some ideas as i was part owner of a stereo shop a few years ago.

I ended up going out and purchasing a new amp. The store I got the other amp from would not return it, but they would service it for $79.99. I said screw that and just spent another $50.00 to go somewhere else and buy something different. I hooked that amp up and walla, works perfect. So something must be internally wrong with the Kenwood amp. I purchased the Kenwood in December, and my procrastinating self, did not install it until last weekend. The store has a 30 day return policy, and after that you are SOL. Oh well lesson learned. Thanks Josh.
