It's not really a HUGE investment... but here are two videos from my 3rd gen that I took. Nothing will sound as good as actually being there... but I hope this helps you.

I have the same muffler as Erik but mine doesn't sound anything like that; mine's is a lot more calm unless you get on the skinny pedal.
Erik, do you think it's the tip that's causing extra loudness?

Tip shouldn't matter... in fact, the muffler guy said that the pipe out shouldn't matter as well. The sound would change if I did the piping from the cat-back, but it's not. It's still stock. Just larger from the muffler back. The tip is just straight through... who knows.

I wondered about installing one as I looked under my T100. it was very odd b.c I noticed the way it hangs I would need a catback system and since no one makes them I would need to weld or do some creative clamping. Thena gaint he exhaust is totally new from the catback
Either way after looking at it I realized something, it is way less restrictive than the 4Runners or Tacos I have looked under. It also has the loud throat exhaust with a yota OEM muffler and piping that appears to be very well bent-maybe mandrel bent.
Really odd, but the previous owner had the thing replaced at the best yota dealership I have ever been too. Maybe its possible they did it the right way?

Installed a 5x11x28" overall stainless steel magnaflow with 2.5" mandrel bent, stainless steel and galvanized pipes behind the O2 sensor, (didn't want to mess with it). It is much louder than stock.
First impression:
Silent at idle. Immediately noticed a dramatic decrease in low end torque, (hopefully the 2.2" pulley going in this weekend will help that out a bit). On the freeway, the sound is noticeable as is the slight increase in HP. In all honesty, it is too loud for my taste. I'll have a silencer installed over the weekend.
I would not recommend 2.5" pipes on an NA 3.4L. Take Mark's advice. Supercharged trucks - All depends on your preference. If you want to keep your torque, stay with the 2.25" piping. If you want a tad more pull top end, and are willing to give up low end, (roughly 15-20lbs/ft lost by my assometer), go 2.5"

The sound is just perfect for me. I'm surprised my wife hasn't say anything yet. Maybe because it was louder before the replacement with the cracked muffler.

well i installed my 18" magnaflow 8x5. nice nice sound, a bit quiet, but it's only the first day so hopefully it gets a bit louder. if not, i really wish i went with the 14". right now it feels like i lost a bit of low end torque, and i stayed with 2.25" piping.
