I like new Tacoma as well. It seems to look much better than I thought, especially with TRD package.

Too bad they didn't do a little more DRIVING during this first drive...

Good to know you guys won't have to figure out how to wire LED's for the dash

I officially love it. I'm actually really suprised Toyota didn't give it X-Reas, I though it would have it for sure. Access cab (d-cab?) is awesome, those seats are great!!!! What shocked me was how clean and clutter-free the engine bay is-mechanic's will like that for sure. 130amp alternator is cool too. Looks like 110v in the bed? Hood scoop!!!

The aftermarket better get crackin on this one.

Edit: Why, oh WHY did they offer that 4 banger standard?!?!?!
Edit Edit: Whoops! Double thread!

As expected, it has a unique, dedicated frame and rear leaf springs. There's been speculation here that it will eventually get the 2UZ V-8, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm surprised they didn't mention the upcoming TRD S/C for the 1GR V-6. Nice post, thanks!

I KNEW it!

Since the spy shots of the 2005 started to appear, I thought there was something "Goofy" about the truck. It's not the same old "Minnie" we are used to. The styling looks like something from "Pluto". Obviously someone slipped the designers a "Mickey" and they came up with something big enough to haul around "101 Dalmations". One of the spy shots showed the new, bigger Tacoma next to a 2004 and it looked like "Beauty and the Beast". The 2005's certainly look luxurious, like something that would be driven by the "Donald. Duck" is what I am going to do when I see one.

Anyway, the "Disney" influence is easy to see in this photo;

I like it! Especially in Red!

I just wish they would put the V8 in it so it would compete with the Dakota.

True, but the V8 probably has a more flat torque curve, which is what I need for when I tow my boat.

But the article stated that with the tow package the new Taco can pull 6,500 lbs. Which is more than enough for me!! New Tacoma here I come!!

heheheh Not a bad idea, but I have my heart set on a dcab Tundra to tow this rig around. That way this one doesn't have to pretend to be street legal anymore
