2004 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 Idle Problem

I just had my battery changed and when I left the parts store I noticed the idle was extremely low. I drove home and unhooked the battery for about 10 minutes to reset everything (well I hoped this would work). I reconnected the battery and started the truck and it still idles extremely low. Does anybody know what may have caused this and what I can do?

Thanks!

First of all, welcome to YotaTech!

When you say it seemed to idle low, what actual RPM's are you seeing?
How many miles?
Any recent work done? (aside from a new battery)
Last time a tune-up was done?

I would also suggest a search for "idle problems" in this section.
You will get a TON of stuff to read.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

It idles at about 250-300 rpm's.
Truck has 112,000 miles on it
No recent work (everything was fine before the battery change)
Plugs were changed about 30,000 miles but were recently inspected and looked good.

I will search again for the infor but I did not see the answer I needed.

I have done alot of searching on this "low idle" and have read where others changed their battery and had the same problem. They were told to drive it and let the ECU "relearn" the sensors and others said it is the IAC. I hate to go drive around when it is not right and I don't know how it could be the IAC when it idled perfectly before changing the battery. Can anybody help me?

Yeah, I'd give it a half day or so to relearn the fuel trims before I got too concerned.
