2000 Timing Belt Replace - Done it?

How hard is it to replace the timing belt on a 2000 4Runner? I have seen a few posts about it but didn't see any major issues.

Also, did any of you notice some squeaks popping up after 70k? I have a few now and I'm trying to pinpoint them...

Bump

Bump...

I also have a 3RD Generation 4Runner(1996) and would like to know how easy it is to change out the timing belt because the Toyota dealerships want almost $200(most for labor).

Thanks

Here, you can see the whole procedure for yourself and judge if it is something you want to attempt:

If and when I change my timing belt I don't believe I'll be doing in water pump work as a knew one has been installed twice after 2 failures. Therefore all I would change/fix is the timing belt making the cost less plus I just installed an electric radiator fan making work alittle easier without the huge fan and shroud being uninstalled/reinstalled.

THANKS

My dealer did it for $219 total. They were running a special. Look around and price them, most dealers will price match. I think $219 is well worth it considering all that is involved!

edit: btw, I do ALL of the other regular maintenance myself.

Yeah, I have to admit, this is one job I'm a little nervous about undertaking. I've done them on other vehicles, but this one makes me nervous for some reason. No one else has laid a hand on my 4runner since I've owned it, and I'm not ready to start now. I'll probably get all the parts well in advance, buy the appropriate tools, and set aside a whole weekend to do it.
