I had new struts put on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4, 3.4, 220,000 miles. They reused the springs and hardware, but the front end looks really high now. Is it just me or did they do something wrong? They installed Bilsteins, I checked the part number 24-187244 Item: B6 4600 Shock Absorber and it looks correct. The back has 4600 Bilsteins that were installed about 4 months ago.

Myself I might be afraid to let them near the truck again.
Wymoing9. So the manager argued about the installation being correct. I printed out a number of different articles, installation directions, and Yotatech forums (Thanks Yotatech!) indicating correct installation and height issues with the seat being upside down.
He said the best they could do was to put it up on the lift to look. When they did, one side was correct and the other was not. The tech knew the issue immediately. The manager said they would make it right.
About 30 minutes later he came back in and said when taking the brand new Bilstein shock off all of the oil came out. He said they tried to add oil back into the shock but he said it was defective. The manager did say he would order another one and ensure everything was correct. Fours hours later and 4 trips to this national chain, the Bilsteins are installed correctly and the height looks normal. Needless to say, I won't be back and will be doing most if not all of the work on my 4-runner from now on. Just didn't want to deal with the springs on this installation.
I bet you are 100% correct on the tech killing the strut. At least they got a new one.
Tville yota - Yes. I agree -- It is a good idea to always double check work. It didn't look right when I picked it up from the national chain and that is when I started to do the research. YotaTech is awesome! Cheers
