1st time 4wheelin

I had my first experience offroading the other day. I guess it was mild but I was apprehensive because the 4Runner is my only truck and my daily driver. The trail to Lake Pomeroy and Mary Murphy's Mine are rated at a #1(easy)

I stopped at Mary's Mine because a Jeep with 35's said the trail to the lake had some big rocks in it and all I saw coming down from there were ATV's.

When I got back to the trail head later on I saw a stock Grand Cherokee with street tires come down and he was saying he just came from the lake. Darn... I felt like going back up there and trying it but it was getting too late. I figured if he could do it so can I.

4 wheelin pics

Now that some of my initial fears are over I will do better trails.
Sorry the pics aren't that great I was busy gripping the streering wheel pretty hard.

Right on Beavah! There's nothing like that first trip out. What till the first time your Runner pulls you through something you didn't think was possible. You'll be hooked for good then for sure!

Hey there Beavah!! That's some pretty sick flex you are sporting. You are starting out right. Don't do anything you are unsure of. The area where you were is very nice, especially in the fall. My favorite trail in that neighborhood is Tincup pass.

There is a trail run happening Saturday the 13th, French Gulch and Georgia Gulch around Breckenridge. The terrain will be BURLY, hardcore/ locker required type terrain and I don't think you would be comfortable driving it. But i'd like to have you ride along with me if you aren't doing anything Saturday. You can see just what a stock 3rd gen 4Runner is capable of in the hands of an experienced driver. There will be several 4Runners and other Toyotas in various states of modification, and some really nice and knoledgeable people for you to meet.

They are meeting at the Wal mart in Fricso at 9:30 AM. I'm working till 7 AM that morning and will be leaving immediatly after I get off. If you want to ride along I can come pick you up. Call or e mail jx94148@yahoo.com if you want to go.

Sweet pics Beavah! Colorado is so beautiful.

jx94148, you said something about Frisco. I've stayed in Frisco for two weeks once. It was one of the most nicest places that I've ever been. I need to go back some time

Cool man, very nice. I know what you mean about your 4Runner being your 'daily driver'. Ditto for me, and I'll take light and moderate stuff, but unfortuantely not rocks. Even stock, the 4Runner is built for great off-roading.

Beavah, nice pictures. The area looks pretty scenic there.
Seems quite a few people went and did a little wheelin' this weekend.

I hope you did not get sun burned like I did though. That's the only downfall to the trip.

Yep, going on a nice scenic wheeling trip Saturday, meeting in Frisco and around Breckenridge. There will be great views of the whole Blue River valley up top. I haven't been out of 2WD in 2 months so I need to really make this count. This sounds like deffinite locker terrain. I'm taking the new digicam on this one so I may have some movies this time.

Thanks everyone for the support.

Though I felt like a wuss, there will be better things to come.
I just moved to Colorado so there is plenty I haven't seen or done yet and I will be sure to share with pictures.
