15" wheels on 2wd 4runner?

I called desertrat.com today to order my BFG 31/10.50R15 on 15" Black Daytona wheels (rockcrawlers). The guy who I talked to warned me that 15" aftermarket wheels may have problems fitting around my brakes even though I have 2wd and my 4runner came with 15" wheels from the factory. Is this true? Do I need 16" wheels?

Thanks in advance.

if your truck came with 15's then any 15 shouldnt have any problem fitting. go ahead and get them, you wont have any issues.

If it came with 15's, then you should be ok. What backspacing did you get? Don't forget that I have those tires for sale

4 or 4.25 would be the backspacing that most people use and not the 3 5/8 or 3.75 that comes on some of the black steel wheels.

Nice thread 2runner.

I want to install a set of 15" steelies on my '03 2wd prerunner. At present, I have the factory 16" steelies that came with my ride. Does this mean I will run into caliper problems.

Would the backspacing be the same for my truck?

And dragr1, what tires are you selling?

Thanks for any input.

The only 15" wheels that I know of that you can run on a truck that came with 16's are from Wheelers Offroad.

I'm selling (4) 32x11.50x15 Bridgestone Dueler MT's (75%) tread for $375, shipping not included. They're in perfect condition.

Heellllppp!!

Today I went to help 2runner put his new 31" tires with 15" rockcrawlers on his 98 4runner. well as it turned out the wheels do not quite clear the calipers. first he wanted to then because he was really but now hes just gonna . So does anyone have any suggestions of what he can do to get these to fit. Can he grind the calipers? or maybe buy some kind of spacer? Thanks any help is apreciated!

I've got some 1/4" spacers that I will be selling as soon as my new a-arms go on this week.

Yeah, I'm removing mine b/c I believe they are what is making my front end vibrate and the steering wheel wobble.

grind down the calpier where it rubs, it can't be that much rubbing. Spacers are going to cause you have lots of vibration problems
