My 2002 4runner just hit 100k miles. any recommendations before i get my annual inspection. might as well get everything done at once.

i had the front and rear diff changed when i bought it at 65k miles.

Usually want to replace the water pump and timing belt around this time, spark plugs if you haven't changed them, check air filter, lube the U-Joints on front and rear drive shafts and give a good look over the under carriage for worn bushings etc.

how much are we talking to get these done at my local show. Just wanted to get an estimate so i set aside some cash.

Now that it's broken in you don't need to baby it as much.

 

I haven't taken a vehicle in for any work in 8-9 years, but I would say that around 600-800 for all the work is a good estimate. If you are somewhat handy, you should be able to change your plugs, air filter, and change out the fluids. That way, you will only need to have them take care of the timing belt and water pump, and save yourself some money.

 

Honestly, beyond plugs, plug wires and filters, I'd leave it alone. I think they end up screwing up stuff more often than fixing it.

My '98 has 132k and still going strong.

you may want to seafoam it soon for good measure, of course before the new plugs!
