Here is my small write up on installing a Body Lift.

thanks, i like it. was a pretty easy install, would have been a HELL of a lot easier had i paid attention to the bolt lengths instead of putting them in the wrong spot and then realizing to late, and having to remove them. but it turned out real nice.

X2 man, I put two in the wrong spot myself but laid them out on the other side after I realized WTF was up! I agree, very easy but I highly recommend air tools b/c doing it without was a PITA! Still though, got mine on by myself in just over 3 hours.

You did knock off the original washer things and used them on the new bolts right? If not then I'm guessin you have some heavy duty washers in there!

yea i used the original washers, did the socket over head of bolt and hammer, to get the washers off.

Yep, me too on all except the two in the front. Those were an SOB to get off! I have a 96 so one less mount on each side for me.

how tall is the truck from the floor to the top of the oem roof racks?? i'm wondering b/c I want to do a 1" bl, but afraid i might scrape in parking garages. around here the parking garages are sometimes 6'8" max height. currently i'm running tundra coils with lc rears, and 285/75/16 bfg's.

good choice on reusing the factory washers. when blake and i were installing mine we, for some reason or another, decided to go to the lowe's route. the pressure on the washers just from turning had slowly had them concaving. After the next off roading trip 2 of the washers had sunk enough to allow the bolt to move freely. Dug up the original body mount bolts and changed them out the next morning. Glad to see some members using their pro factory intuition

miller, i had read before hand that using the original washers was the way to go. so thats what i did. it turned out real nice...

NOW TO MEASURE, be back.

EDIT: its approx 81" tall or 6'9"

for anyone interested, here is the wheel gap covers i put on.




Basically all you need is to buy some plastic body snap clip things (not sure on what they are really called)
Drill 5 holes in the pinch weld in the fender well on the passenger side.
drill three holes in the pinch weld in the fender on the driver side and use the two plastic clips holding on the gas filler tube cover.
Put the gap covers up, push the clip through the wholes.
Easy as that.

Yes, generally need one a 1" and taller lift on a 3rd gen or Tacoma:

Since the steering shaft is nearly vertical is needs to get ~1" longer for every 1" of lift:

yes i used an extension, and as the man who sells these body lifts knows it is definantly needed.

I just ordered the 2 " BL from 4Crawler, can't wait to get it on to stop the tire rub from the 32 BF's. I see a lot of pics for the 1" BL but not much of the 2" BL, any body got any pics of what their rigs look like after the 2"?

edit: for those of you who want to know I got the 2" kit with D+HD+FB+SE+RAD. Not sure if I will used the Radiator relocation brackets. I hear there is no problem running with out it. I got them just encase I see any over heating problems.

SWEET, I have a 2.5 inch spacer on right now so thats almost what i will be looking forward too!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!! My girl is getting annoyed with me being so happy about a new addition to the 4runner.
