1" or 2" Body Lift?? Help..
At the moment I am stuck in between the two sizes of Body Lift. I would love to go up to a 2", get some more tire clearance and look a bit bigger BUT after reading up on it, a few things have to be modified. You clutch hose, power steering hose (I think), gas line hose etc....Also, people have had trouble with their shifter and steering shaft...
Is it all that hard to do the above things, or should I just go with a 1" BL, install it and not have to worry about all of that???
I just need some opinions..
Thanks,
Dan

Yep, I'd go with a 1" and forget about having to do all that other stuff. Here's a link to my install page for my Roger Brown 1" body lift: www.toyota-4runners.com/body-lift.html

Check out Roger Browns site. He has loads of information on body lifts as well as manufactures a GREAT kit. http://www.4crawler.com

What kind of rig do you have? How much tire do you want to run with the bodylift? How much tire do you have now?
The necessary modifications for each height on each truck are different.
I even checked your profile and that was of no help.
Roger's page has some good reading.
I put a 1" on my 95 and run 33's. No mods, stick in the pucks and go.
On 2nd gen trucks, I don't think that it is worth going to 1.5" vs 2" Might as well go whole hog.

Ive got a 91 runner. Im going to put 33x12.5's on rims with 4" of backspacing. I have rear coil spacers, and Im cranking the T Bars up front 1".. I just wanted to have that little bit more clearance with a 2"...
So.. with a 1.5" I wont need to cut my shifter etc?????
Also.. do you have any pics of your truck?? (Flygtenstein)
Thanks.

lift
Amember of our club did a 3" body lift on his 90 4runner v6 from performance accessories. And the kit came with everything he needed. We did not have to change any hoses or anything, and the shifter extensions were a breeze.

Aw man! No one is going to notice my 1" body lift? What else can I do for attention?
