so is there any hope of me with a 2wd to get a lift, i was thinking 2" but I don't want to pay that much for it, there's a shop in Hawaii that will do it but they have to have the truck all day and it will cost me about 700, for a body lift

The PP springs will provide about 2" of lift in the rear, and 1.25-1.5" in the front. I've had them, and they are about 20% stiffer than stock in addition to being 1" longer, so this is the reason you achieve more lift. You may even achieve more than that since you are 2wd.

Bahh! More problems?? Says who?? More wind resistance, lower gas mileage, thats about it...a body lift is great for getting bigger tires and THEREFORE getting a little more clearance under your truck. Also makes it a hell of a lot easier to work on.

DONT PAY SOMEONE TO INSTALL A BODY LIFT FOR YOU! couple wrenches, 2x4, and a floor jack....thats all you need!

My apologies for not paying attention to the 91 year model, thus I deleted my posts. However, less sarcasm next time in pointing out the error of my ways would be appreciated.

Same goes for talking about skid plates in a body lift thread...

Nevertheless, there isnt really that much of a difference in doing the lift between years. Same overall concept. HOWEVER, no one noticing that it looks like he has a manual yet everyone seemingly provides info on automatics makes a big difference. I would hope toyotadan takes the overall advice and checks out Roger Browns website and contacts him.

k wait so how much are the pp springs? If anyone knows it would save me a lot of time looking for my catalog , it's somewhere in my room, anyways I can't install it myself! I don't have any tools whatsoever and I'm not automotively inclined, anybody In Oahu who wants to install for me????? i'm willing to pay some amount for the installation, if I do it myself I will screw it up

And it is now fixed and deleted.

Answer the question that is asked. If you have another question, post another thread.

I was answering a question about my skid plate. Not telling doink that it was super cool I had a fancy rear bumper on my 85.

In the future I will abstain for providing any information beyond what is immediately pertinent, I hope that others can follow suit.

Dan has not come back to check this yet. He asked to post pics, so I did. Pics that were immediately relevant to the question at hand and should provide a more than adequate answer to the question and a visible reference for those who are eye type learners.

This thread is like a henhouse with all the bickering. My goodness! Everybody seems to be wound up pretty tight - screw it, lets go wheelin'!!

Hijacked threads are a fact of "forum" life. We can try to limit it, but it will happen and frequently.
