You said you loved the 5.29s for crawling, but how do you think they'd do on the street? Finding gearing info for the auto is hard, whether to go with 4.88s or 5.29s for 33s.
BTW, do you plan on keeping the auto?

And of course nice truck, but you get that a lot!

Thanks. The 5.29's are great on the street. With the 33's I can get it up to 75 mph pretty easily and it gets off of the line much quicker than before. I would recomend them for an auto and 33's.

Definatly plan on keeping my auto, I know there are alot of negative oppinions but whatever.

Hey Mark, sorry for the long hiatous, things in my world have been pretty crazy

Yes it happened. I have been doing lots of things, replaced a bunch of wood and repainted the house, fixed my decrepid privacy fence ect. ect. I said it just before the last HF trip that when I got back I mentally, physically and financially needed to put this project down for a little while. I have not touched the thing since besides a run to Specs with Sam last Saturday. I'll be back.......as soon as work and home settle down some.

Fhewwwwwwwwww, ...there you are! lol. GLAD you're ok! With the CRAZY fires, etc., ...had me wondering if you were being effected big by it, etc. But then I remembered the big MAY ''events'' you got going on! lol. Shhhhh, lol.

Anyway, ..... interesting on the 5.29's.......I guess that would be 4.88's on a manual, equivalent in power, etc., due to auto's 'drag' on the power stream, right?

Have a good one, Rob,

Mark

Cool, thanks for the info, helps a lot! Right now, 75mph in my truck is just a daydream.

Good to hear your sticking with the auto. DIRTCO made me a believer, but there are precious few actually building them. I'll be watching!

All I can tell you is that my torsion bars are 26mm Downeys and they are adjusted as low as they can go, I have no threads sticking out of the top of the adjuster and jam nut.

DIRTCO's auto 4runner build is awesome, I want one of those little shifters.

Mine (26mm Ironman) have 13 turns on each, but the LT puts a lot more force on them, and I don't have BJ spacers

Hello Rob.. Glad to see your back. I know what you mean by everything coming up and putting the 4runner on the back burrner.

Welcome back.

From: Bryan Tx,
Hey guys. Just had a quick second and thought I would post some pics from last weekend. I packed up the whole Family in the 4runner and took about a 30 mile trip out to the family property for a weekend of camping. It is the furthest I have ever driven this thing and it did just fine on the road. It's about a 1500 acre ranch and there is plenty of exploring to do out there, I always have a good time.

My little man actually managed to fall asleep back here while we where going 70 down the highway. I don't see how with all the wind and road noise.

Random pics of the camp site, we had about 20 family members out for the weekend

Somebody had to show these ATV's who was boss

And I know this is beging to be the norm in this thread but of course while I was showing the ATV guys what an offroad truck could do I found myself in a bad spot. Was climbing a really loose sand hill and slid off the side and got pinched between some trees. I tried to get out without damage but you guys know me better than that

Nice dent and busted tail light lense

Ripped my bikini top in 2 places

And the worst of it all mangled my tailgate up AGAIN, lol. The glass is shattered into a million pieces

I had a good time, really need to get a good back bumper in the works, not even going to bother messing with this untill I do

Planning on going back to Marble Falls for some real wheeling this weekend so hopefully I won't get any more damage......but don't get your hopes up.

Rob come on now play nice with the 4 wheelers so you don't brake stuff. Looks like you had a good time. I have 2 back glasses should you need one LOL.
