There is alot of that going around, I made sure I had my strap with me this morning in case I saw some drivers in the ditch but haven't had to use it yet. People in this part of the country are not prepared for these conditions, but those who are generally don't mind helping out where they can. Texas is a great place to live. Thanks for posting that MM.

I used to help support a 150 mile radius of Lubbock and when I had to go to the small towns in Texas to the cities, the people were always friendly. I really liked Texas. I know they arent used to the snow and ice for the most part there.

We had people using their farm tractors and ATVs to get around here. I did pick up a couple of stranded motorist here and I take the back ways as alot of people just drive to fast on the main highways and even though the back ways arent cleared, Both of the people were surprised at what I was able to go through. These trucks have a really good setup in them.

I always keep a strap in the truck somewhere

But yeah i see where yall are coming from,
We dont get much snow at all down here,
But when we do people dont know how to drive in it.
Last year i only had to pull two people out. No one so far this year.

Fixed it. I could tell the oil was coming from the back of the motor, up high. Turns out all 4 of my valve cover bolts where extremely loose, the left rear corner I turned 3 full turns WITH MY FINGERS before it got snug. It was prob close to falling off all together! I know I didn't tighten them up very much from the last valve adjustment, I think they are supposed to be at 10 ft-lbs or something like that. Makes me feel a little dumb on one hand, but also grateful that it was a super easy fix ,lol. I cleaned the mess up half-arse and will keep an eye on it, but really sure that was the problem.

Also unless UPS is lying to me AGAIN then I should have some shocks at my door when I get home this evening.

From: Bryan Tx,
UPS did drop the new shocks off today. Just by looking at them I am pretty pleased, They have the little extra length I need plus they seem massive! I can only hope they work well, but for $40 I already feel like I got a good deal.

New Doetsch vs. Stock 05+ TRD OR rear billy close up. You can really tell the difference in shaft and body size.

Not letting me multi-quote, lol.... So, GREAT LOOKING SHOCKS! I'll say that, first, lol.

Far as the leak, WOW, that's great news, man! I wouldn't wish the luck I've had on anyone, so seeing it work out simple, ....heck, it's GREAT to hear, "yeah, I'm a dork"....instead of "HOLY CRAP", ....hahaha. So claim it, buddy...all those of us who love ya aren't going to give you any grief.... 'WE LOVE YOUR WORK, MAN', haha.

Great news, bud... Hopefully, I'm going to experience a few years of leak free bliss, too, ya know? hahaha.

From: Bryan Tx,
Finally got around to putting the shocks on.

Also had a few minutes to spare last night so I chopped up and welded some angle iron together in an attempt to make a beefy CB antenna mount. I need to machine it a little today and try to get it on before Sunday, I am planning on doing a little wheeling with some buddies and want my CB working.

cool.

three questions:
1) does the antenna hit the cap?
2) what antenna?
3) what kind of range do you get with that set-up?

Any 'full truck pics' available?

1) it hits a little but not much, for some reason that I think is odd it tends to swing more side to side then forward and backwards. Only real experience I have with it doing this is while wheeling.
2) a 4ft firestick. I would have gotten a Firefly but this antenna came to me from a friend for free
3) Not sure, all I know is that it can reach from the fron of a 1500 acre offroad park to the back.

Thanks Mark, Pic request? No problem bud, here are a couple from my wheeling trip yesterday. No action shots since I took the pics. There are a ton more that I will post soon.

x2. Did I miss which ones you got? I know you said something about them being $40 a piece and were the 8000 pre-runners.

Shocks where a huge improvement. Most of what I am doing is low speed crawling so I don't need a highly sopisticated shock. They are Doetsch Tech 8000 series that I got a smokin deal on from Ebay. Doetsch 's site list them at $48 each, I got the pair for less than that.

From: Bryan Tx,
Sorry but I do not have the part number, already threw the box in the dumpster at work. I do know that they where a close out deal that I got from the former owner of Downey and they where the last pair he had. They are extended length for BJ spacers 15-1/2" long extended. I wasn't sure how that bumpstop was going to work but I didn't have any problems with them.
