Hey. New here but felt like starting threads for my two trucks (86 4runner 334k 22re a340h and 95 2wd t100 254k 2.7l manual) I got the 86 from a friend for $800 needed a water pump. After about a month, timing chain cut a hole into the water jacket ( also when I joined yotatech ). After head gasket, all the top end gaskets, fix the timing chain cover, new timing chain and gears, and oil pump it ran like a top. Until 2/5 when I got hit on 95( ended up losing traction ) cut a rad hose and bent tie rod (and knocked a bunch of junk out a place. Knock started and finally killed itself about 2 weeks later. Now the yota sits in my driveway and I drive the t100 Plans for the 86: bumpers, sliders, 3-5" lift 33" gy duratracs, lockers, full paintjob (Inc engine bay and engine), half top mod for getting a tiny bit of a bed back, gm 3 wire alternator conversion, winch(which I have), full front end rebuild including poly bushings, rebuilt 22re (I have aa rebuilt 81-82 block 22r with a rebuilt head for converting to 22re (which it had stock) rhino lined floorboards and some kind of speaker set up.

IM IN GREAT NEED OF ONE IFS RING GEAR THAT LOCKS THE HUB TO THE CV AXLE.

Sounds like you have had a little tough luck with it lately. Great looking truck, I like the stripes on it. Welcome to Yotatech and looking forward to your build.

Thanks. I absolutely love that angry green pop.

Got the head back from the shop and my favorite man did great. Hot tanked, bead blasted, 3 angle valve job, new valves and seals (I bought them not inc. In the machine shop price ), and decked it to max before needing a adjustable timing gear. For a low whopping price of 186.39 (I guess it may help that my boss sends a head to him about once every other week)

Just an FYI on why I didn't just buy a new casting.. This is a 81-82 block and head with the dome top pistons, taller deck and dual row timing chain so the castings aren't readily available and I couldnt use a 22re head. (Which was a stroke of luck and bad luck at the same time)

Already got it painted up. And woops. Didn't mean to spray over the main water feed (I'll fix it later)...

I also tapped all the holes in the block and head getting prepared to put it back together.

To come: next week or two timing chain set and some more paint. Then after that put it all together and drop her in.

Long no post my friends. So here is the update on the build so far

Got the timing chain cover and all those goodies in

And going to mount the intake manifold and plenum up to the old school block was quite the disappointment. So pull out the tap and die and make some holes (the intake runners like up along with the coolant passages however there is missing a couple (4) bolt holes to mount it up)

Next thing next mount all the goodies for dropping into the bay

Helpful hint for anyone who has a different motor they are trying to put in AND they have an automatic. Check to see if your cranks got a pilot bearing in it. Ask me how i know. 6 hours later motors in. 2 days later motor firing 4 days later motor is running perfect.

So now my runner is running and have been literally walking around with a giant smile because i love this thing. So. Onto the next peices of this puzzle. Gotta rebuild the front end, realign it, small lift 3" max. (33's which i have) , and build some bumpers. Stay tooned

Quick update. 4runner was running great got it registered and about 4 days later the a340h took a massive crap. What can I expect. The thing had 327k miles on it. So now I'm hunting for a a340h or a w56 with every goodie that you need for swap. Not wanting to fork out 1200 for a rebuild. Message me if your nearby Florida and your looking to get rid of these noted items.
