Turn your speakers up, don't worry it's not a trick video.
http://s1227.beta.photobucket.com/us...07981.mp4.html
It's a lot louder when i'm driving though. .

Listen to me go off on how I thought I heard my transmission, have I ever mentioned I am terrible at diagnosing? WELL I AM! I was never able to diagnose this thing but now that I think I know what it is, I should be able to drive at ease. My CVs are crapping out so with the help of some Aisins that are on there way, I wont have to feel them under my feet

My steering wheel is squeaky... It's the sound I have been hearing, even though it doesn't make sense about what I have previously stated. Very weird haha, I'm gonna pay close attention tomorrow and see if I'm correct about the steering wheel. Maybe my steering set up on the front end is going out of whack..

Yea that definitely sounds reasonable. I do actually remember hearing a POP, but that was as soon as tension was put on the line, not during the pulling process. Hmmm, one guy was filming, i'll ask him to send me the clip and see if the pop was in there. The thing that doesn't make sense about the steering box is that I just started hearing it Monday, 3 days ago, unless it got significantly worse? I guess the steering set up is better than a transmission, unless it goes out on a turn at high speeds

Haha, a nice what?

The steering wheel noise only occurs occasionally now? Seems to have somewhat fixed itself?

And I think the "tranny grind" is something different. It is a new sound, very quiet and quick at higher speeds, 30+. I'm not entirely sure it is the transmission to be honest, maybe a drive shaft? I cannot simulate it, or get it to do it so I really don't know what could be going on, doesn't happen to much though so hopefully it's not an issue?

Have you got under it and looked for fresh metal? Just a thought, but if it's driveshafts or something you can see, it could be pretty obvious, if not, I'd check out the spindle bushings when you change the cv's. Those are the obvious things I can think of off the top of my head.

What are the spindle bushings? Yea i'm thinking of replacing the brake pads while i'm in there as well as greasing everything The sound is definitely coming from the pass. side and one thing that did cross my mind is that when I was replacing the wheel studs on the pass. side I started pulling off a seal that was on the hub disc plate? I think is what it's called? (I'll see if I can find a picture) For some reason I did not replace it so i'm wondering of maybe, most likely not, it has something to do with that? I really doubt it but you never know. .

Why thank you sir! I like to think so myself Except for the damn tail pipe, i'm considering cutting it back some but I don't know if it'll effect smog? Or make it annoyingly loud

Thanks for the tip, Jonny and Mark! Yea i'll crawl around under neath and see if anything looks damaged. . I still plan on draining the tranny and changing the filter so hopefully no metal pieces fall out

Well I know the bearings are full, at least they were. . New fresh grease was following the old out when I packed them, the reason I thought spindles is because I know I did not grease them when I worked on it, I didn't even know you had too. . I probably wiped some off so I didn't get my hands dirty I found the spindle greaser thread, https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f128...6-95-a-105523/, I think I might do that for when I put the hubs on.

Yeah, the spindle thing tends to become more prominent in cold weather, and you did say your cv's may be going out, so they could also be loosening up and moving around in there some. Just a thought, common problem. Mine was making noise, but honestly, I just didn't feel like maintaining anything in the front end after my mind was made up to redo it.

You don't want to cut it back it will leak more exhaust into the rear cab area thru the fender wells. And increase condensation under and in the wheel areas.

To make it look smoother.. Get it closer to the body, new section aft of the muffler, or maybe just new bends. And find a dress up cap to put on it.
