The "fella" and I went on a little expedition. A lake about 7 miles from my house on an non-plowed road, luckily there were a few dry patches and the snow wasn't too deep. . It did however get a little hairy at times

Thanks man!
So I've been looking into some rock lights for a while now and what I've noticed is that "rock lights" and very expensive however great quality while LED light strips and very inexpensive but not very bright. Me being as cheap as I am, my logic is that more LED strips = more light
The landrover and bronco I wheel with rock these, http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=99201260646
They are not the best however they work. I have seen some lights that are bright enough to be able to wheel without headlights and these are not them but they look sweet

So I have been holding on buying "stuff" lately
My friends and I are driving north to check out a school in 2 weeks so I have been saving for that. There are a few things I need to do prior to the drive, we're taking my truck
I should be receiving the Aisins next week so while i'm in there i'd like to change the pads, turn the rotors, grease the bearings and spindles. Not to bad, I've done most of that before. . I have never done the pads or bled the brakes before so one of my friends will be helping me with that. He has done it on his Pathfinder before so i'm hoping we can do it all in one day, seems reasonable.
I know brakes are one thing that you do not want to go cheap on, however I don't really see how pads can "fail" on you. Lots of forums recommend OEM, but I was curious if anyone has any input on Marlin's brake pads? They are only $30 for all 4, seems like a good deal however the lack of information on them is what is holding me back...

Been running them for almost two years now(i think) haha and are about 20% left just about time to swap them out. Stopping those 33's, there doing their job. But as i remember, it doesnt have the heat resistance lines inthem just a flush pad. You know what i mean.

Alright, I finally got to add something to my truck, YAY! I replaced the front brake pads, the rotors, repacked the bearings, greased the spindles (they look much better), and FINALLY put the Aisins on!!! My buddy helped me with the brakes, I would have failed with out him. Not too many pics of the process but everything went smooth, no broken bolts however I have finally concluded that I hate the cold, working in a non-heated garage is miserable.

And some other pictures

Thanks again for the hubs, Mark! I need to clean up the wheels so it all looks good. I should be getting a highlift that i can mount on the ARB, hopefully today... That should add some sweetness to it haha. I ended up spilling some coolant on it and the paint is now fading so I need to touch it up, darn.
That FJ is sweet. There is a few that you occasionally see rolling around truckee, I have never seen that one before though. There is one for sale at an mechanics garage that I was checking out, completely stock FJ60, 4speed manual w/ over drive, 19x,xxx miles. It looks great, I've always wanted one but they are so damn expensive

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. .
I hope to have a heated garage when i'm older and if not, i'll hopefully have a daily driver so I can work during the two warm hours a day
So far, so good. My old pads were not as bad as I thought nor were the rotors bad so they new pads/rotors did not make a huge difference, still better than before though
My friends and I are driving up to Humboldt tonight to check out the school and I voted to take my rig, i'm not telling them about my whopping 15MPG though haha. I'm sure it'll be the first time my rig will see the coast since arrival, should be magical
When I get back, depending on how much $$ I still have, I might be purchasing a 8" rear 4.10 with a limited slip. I'll be taking the limited slip but if there is anyone that would like a 4.10 with the diff. housing, let me know!

As for the cold, wait till you get older, it really HURTS! lol

How are those brakes working out
