Sky's 1989 3.4 Build

Hello, this is going to be my build thread for later mods done to my truck. I do not have pics from the build, I would like to show you fellers my truck

The truck-
Its a 1989 extended cab toyota pickup. Started life with a 3.0l v6. Now she has a 3.4l v6 from a 2002 4runner. SFA from a 1985 pickup. Locked front and rear with 5:29's. Current tires on it are some irok radials which I have decided I do not like. As soon as I can I am hitting up discount tire for some km2's. (Any input on these would be nice)

*Six shooter nuckles/arp studs.
*Bilsteins with res
*Axle trail armored.
*Ramsey 9500 winch on older trail gear stinger

Alot of smaller things I dont feel the need to list right now.

I will add photos as I add more to it, just lost my license so hopefully ill have time to work on it more.

I lost control and compression slide into a ditch breaking a tie rod and put my truck onto its side. A log truck came by and pulled me back over onto my wheels. I was to far from home to drive with a broke tire rod so I called my buddy and he came and took it home on his trailer. Replaced tie rod in 15 mins then drove it home the next day.

Body Damage isnt bad, broke my bondo though. I am surprised my sub didnt break my extra cab window, suckers heavy.

Just have to prep and paint my new door and fender, waiting for the weather to get better first.

Should have my sliders welded on here soon. Might plate my bumper and build a rear bumper.

These km2's kickass and look nice. Ill post some pics of how it sits now when I go to the new house. Trucks relaxing in a heated garage

So by the 8th of next month I must have my truck lower. State patrol has made that pretty clear. I have 5 inch trail gear leafs in the front and 63's in the rear. And 7 inch shackles. Could someone give me some ideas on lowering it just for this set date. (8th)

I am also cheap right now because I blew all my cash on new rubbers. So really, quickest and cheapest way right now would be great.

Thanks all.

Why do you have to lower it? How much? Make you some kind of bumper that will unbolt for wheeling that sits lower.

Washington doesn't have lift laws on how much lift you can have. Only on bumper height. Headlight and taillight height and overall less than 102" wide 14' tall 40' long. And mud flaps.

I want it lower anyways. Way to big for my personal taste, way to tall for the tree littered trails around me. Just not practical for me atm. Cops around here will still pull you over even if you have a drop bumper, just so they can point out any other flaw in your truck. Which in my case I have a few, it would be nice to get there eyes away from my truck while its on the highway. I cant get pulled over again...

Pretty happy today I got a call from state farm confirming that they will fix my body damage. Happy I dont have to do it considering the bed and cab damage. I had to show them pics of the accident to prove it didnt happen off road. Go figure! I keep my truck away from trees as much as possible when wheeling. Must put on sliders.

Within the next week-
new shackles 5.5" front 5" rear (not sure yet on how this will sit, any input on this idea will be appreciated.)
starter
master cylinder (tomorrow)

* Final plan for truck will be a safe dd/wheeler that wont get me noticed as much. Hopefully when done ill be mildly lower and still fit my iroks for the trails. Will see how things go, i change my mind alot. Might start cutting things

Most likely going to take my stinger off as well. Just for inspection then it will go back on or maybe... badlands bumper? Baja style, I think it will be nice to have some change to the front end.

Good thing im two hours from there shop. Iv heard good things about his work, it is pretty tempting to make a trip down there.

Will get some pictures here soon. Been busy moving

How many leafs in the front and rear spring packs? You could pull a leaf or 2 out for the front and get shorter shackles for the rear... ?

Just make sure your shocks dont bottom out..

Previous owner built the truck for show and never wheeled it. Which makes no sense but when I got it, at least I knew it was solid and done right. PO daily drove it around the city and on the freeway near Seattle. I am happy I can go 85 with my hands off the wheel and still track straight down the road. lol

Also picked up some 34" tsl's from a buddy.

Front leaf pack- 6
Rear leaf pack- 7

Rattlewagon, would taking leafs out affect the way the truck rides?

I am near Port Angeles, still waiting on a call from state farm to get my truck fixed. Not sure if they will do it anymore (The policy or some crap keeps changing) Starting to make me upset, been with state farm for years and they have never failed to help during or after an accident.
