*Wallet Empty Update*
Over the last week I picked up some new stuff - radiator (non-plastic tank ends), upper/lower radiator hoses, thermostat/gasket and spark plug wires. I also went over to DSMer's and bought his used front 3rd, axles, Aisin hubs and drive shaft! He was nice enough to let me keep the knuckles, rotors, calipers as an assy for easy removal! Also picked up some wiper arms from him (since I had none)! It was a good weekend, got some parts, some sun, killed some ants!
As far as actual work on the truck, I've got the old radiator, clutch fan, condenser and intake removed. First I think I'll start making the intake, from the plumbing section of HomeDepot. After that I need to re-install the old radiator and flush the block with some kind of cleaner to remove the rust diarrhea, it looks freakin nasty! LOL Then modify the efan to fit the radiator, with wiring. Then onto cleaning the "new to me" front diff parts, oh and I need to get a set of gear to match the rears or just blow a shtload more money for 5.29's!
I got quite a few projects to keep me busy!
On to the pics!

Oh one other thing, I got a much needed upgrade to the garage done (it's toyota related
)
I picked up a mini swamp cooler for the garage, serviced it and made a stand for it. It directs the cool air in through the back of the garage, makes it about 10 degrees cooler which helps alot when it's 100+ here in Arizona!!!

I'll add a few more pics to this post, to make sure it's deemed "toyota related"

Whelp it's been a real long time since I did anything to my yard decoration, until today! This is my first Saturday off of work in over two months, so I dedicated today to working on the yota!
I spent sometime last night researching salvage yards for p/s pumps, found one place that was open today and had one for $35 w/ a 90 day warranty. I also removed the pump last night, but I had to sever the high pressure line for removal.
Headed out this morning to find that they didn't have one, so I picked up a high pressure line for $25 while I was there. I decided on my cross town drive, that I was going to do a gasket rebuild on the pump instead of replacing it. I stopped by the local dealership and ordered the kit, key woodruff (since I dropped it into the abyss last night upon removal), a gallon of coolant and some oil filters. Oh and last night during my midnight disassemble session, I broke the air valve on the pump, so I got one of those too!
One more stop for some de-greaser, p/s fluid ATF, Permatex HD Alum Rad Flush, Prestone Super Flush and some Permatex Red RTV for the new water neck on the front of the block... (insert smilie with empty wallet)
So yeah, I have a few projects going on - but it's good to be motivated again! Work and life sure puts a drain on the fun projects sometimes...
(I'll post some pics as soon as I can remember my password!

Extremely minor update*
Got the p/s pump rebuilt yesterday, which was quite easy with the help of various write-ups on here and the FSM!
Then today I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I can't check the timing yet, the radiator is out (still trying to figure out how to wire my efan up). I figured I'd start on the passenger side, I heard it was "challenging"! Since the p/s pump was off already, it wasn't too bad and I thought the other side would be a piece of cake ...... WRONG! Two of the three were seized, so for the next few hours I spent time spraying PBblaster, loosening turn by turn, reversing, trying the break the threads free! FINALLY ... their out!
And I realized something today, PDblaster almost smells as good as gun oil... haha
Anyways, thanks for such a great site - I wouldn't tackle half these projects without the support and awesome write ups on Yotatech!

3) re-wire the stereo
4) install ignition components
5) work on the steering column, swap the wiper/signal/tilt arms
6) try to start the relay wiring for the e-fan
AND I just got done spending 4 HOURS getting the ucking PCV out!!!!!
What a major pita, I mean who the uck designed that ˟˟˟˟e! Soooo tomorrow I'm going to modify the new line and extend it where it'll be accessible next time!

Okay so I got slightly more than half of my Friday list done, not enough time in the weekend!!!
1) the radio wiring is now squared away
2) installed the sunroof
3) the damn mother 'ucking pcv valve is out and made a extension for it, moving it to a place where changing it will be EASY next time
4) the p/s pump is back in it's place new high pressure line and return hose
5) steering column is out to switch accessories and install cylinder
6) BUT I only got half way through my ignition problem - but it's a good start!
(ignition problem thread - https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...e-help-253850/ )

Whelp, good last few weekends - got everything installed (radiator, fan, belt, hoses, etc) only to find out the water pump was now leaking!!
So in a last ditch effort I tightened down all the water pump bolt I could see near the thermostat - FIXED! It didn't leak a drop all day today! BUT I can hear the water pump bearings, so it's gonna need to be changed out eventually. Also bleed the p/s pump today, per the FSM (wheels in the air) so thats all good now. Hmmm, what else - OH I was finally able to drive the truck today, well around the block anyway lol. I haven't been able to drive it since this time LAST YEAR! Been wrenching on it for over a year, money willing! So I've updated my "needs" list and will be tearing into the many other things this trucks "needs."
AND I just gotta say THANKS YOTATECH, if it wasn't for this site I would've taken a match to my yota along time ago!
stay tuned...
