Just look up all the rebuild parts for the 4.3, about 566 dollars from Summit, of course that with a 288 dollar intake.

Hey, it's only money I don't have............

Thanks Dutch, the bobed bed on this style looks almost factory, I took off 12 inches from the bed and than 7.5 from the frame. My son is working on friends Dodge as soon he finishes, I'll have room to pull the 22R and rebiuld the 4.3 V6............wish it was warner over here. It could be worse, I could be in the great white north........LOL

Nice work! I love the Bob , was planning on 12-14" bob on mine , I'm gonna leave the frame a inch or so past the tailgate to use as a bumper and box frame in with 3". I assume your running the stock location rear shackle mounts? Just wondering cause I'm putting 63s on my truck and that will move the mounts atleast 4" past stock location. How much frame do you have past shackle mounts?

775toy, thanks, the front rear shackle are stock, when I replaced the rusted rear frame I moved the new rear shackles a bit, you may see them on the frame pictures.
When I replaced the frame (rear) I made it the same length as the factory, then later with the bed 12 inches shorter, I cut off 7 1/2 inches from the rear frame and that's how it looks now. With the 63 spring if I was you I would wait until you place the new rear spring before cutting the frame.

4.3 in one these would be really good for power. I had a 4.3 in a chevy one time and they are powerful little motors. Think you will like it. I would like to do a diesel myself.
Unfortunately about the only thing I know on diesels is no spark plugs and that the fuel pump handle is green.
Really like the color of your truck. The seat looks as if it belongs in there. Looking forward to seeing your build.

Thanks Terry, just waiting unitl a get some extra money before I sent the block out. Need tires for the F350, 6 tires it's a DRW about 1092 clams, that money would have got a lot of things for the toy. Also can't wait for your 4runner build oh and the other.

I had to put tires on all 3 trucks last year and it really set us back. That was a small fortune. The tires you have to run are quite a bit more. Got a friend putting some on his diesel and those arent cheap.
I came across an air hose from a big rig that has the guage in it. I adapted the end of it from a glad hand to a air tank fitting. I check my tires quite often and usually can get more miles from a tire then advertised.
I got to pull the codes on my dads Ford as I have a hand scanner and he has a bone yard up there with a few Toyotas up there that I want to check out. Always looking for different options or has nicer parts then what I have. Wont be outside long as the weather stopped everything today. Have the day off and had so much planned. I am really trying to get this one going quick.

Well going to be off this weekend, will pull the old 22r out, the 4.3 V6 will be ready for the shop to work on it, the build on the V6 should be next to nothing just parts. My son is doing the transmission re-build at school ( also next to nothing). It appears like I planned all this. Problem my son is a vw nut, hates jap vehicles, all well he still lives at home so I have some pull. Oh and he does not have a girl so he home a lot.......

Hope this weekend treat you well. Once in awhile things fall into place like you had planned all along. Other times with the best of planning it usually goes backwards for me. Maybe this will go quick for you. A 4.3 in these trucks would be nice.
In the old days VWs were really dependable. Dont know about now. How has your VW treated you? Your son could have a change of heart when he gets on his own and has to depend on his daily driver. That is what moved me away from the domestics, I dont care to admit this, but I felt the same way about Japanese trucks at one time that your son does.
Car payments and repair payments opened my eyes. WIDE.lol
