RL's Build Thread- 90Runner

Hi guys, I've been a long time lurker here and haven't really posted.

So here's how my story starts, w/ my 1990 4runner in 2006, bought it w/ cash the week after i turned 16 w/ 77,xxx on the odd.

Interior was in pretty good shape minus the armrest, interior was straight and awesome as well aside from the clear coat coming off in places.

At 84,xxx had my experience w/ the head gasket

Long story short I'm on my 3rd 3VZE, and my last.

I plan on waiting until this motor goes then swapping in either a 22re or a sb chevy

Any who here are some pics as I got it

As it sits now I had a tow pkg put on the rear and got blessed w/ the saggy butt these things get after towing my buddies boat a couple times.

This will be a slow build thread but I figured I'd get it started.

Thanks for interest guys!

Right now is the best time to order the sas kit. TG is running a sale and if you shop around you can find it for $999 shipped. Thats why I already have mine lol

I know! It's killing me not being in a good spot financially to make that big of a purchase at the moment.

Some good news that will help speed up the build is that I got the word that we'll be getting a bonus at work this yr

I will see that towards the end of Oct.
and will most likely go towards the sas kit or new tires

Hi guys, a couple buddies and I are headed to Eastern Wa Sunday-Monday, I'll post a couple pics!

But as far as updates w/ the rig, I have a couples questions...

Eventually I will sas it, but for the time being I'll lift it to accommodate 33's.

So I'm looking to start acquiring a few parts
LSPV bracket
Panhard Bracket
Balljoint spacers
FJ80 Coils for rear

My questions is, w/ all of the factors that come into play, should the coils be my first thing I do? Then measure to see what spec bracket to get. Since the amount of lift varies so much depending on different rigs w/ the FJ80's.

I'm looking on 4Crawler's site and just want to make sure, as the brackets are pretty closely sized out. 1",1.5",2",2.5", 3" yoda yoda

I'm shooting for 3", maybe 4" of lift. Sounds like the FJ80's should put me right there, just curious what you guys did in order and issues before I buy the 3" brackets but really end up needing 4", and having it not work.

Thanks for any input!

Weather wasn't too bad ran into fog and light showers at the top of our climb around 6,000ft, down lower was comfortable and perfect for BBQ and hanging out.

So I found an ad on cl for "toyota springs" asking $10

They measured at 18"+ so I decided to pick them up, hoping they are fj80 coils by chance.

One is black, the other is blue, but the blue has flaked off really bad so maybe someone just painted it.

Any way to tell for sure?
