This is the rebuild thread I followed. Most warns follow the same design except the desired 8274.

Ok, so like I thought, u already had the extended shackles, and at this point of adding the OME PACK, u went with the flip kit and shock relocation due to said flipskie. Not sure if I would be able to have my buddy who welds help me relocate the shock mounts... And since the u bolts are different than stock (round vs. square), I hate to get a set of longer bolts just to end up getting the flip kit later, with all said bolts.

Wanted to pick all this up at 4wheel parts in the next few days/be done b4 March 1-3 trip..... but not knowing if the flip kit could happen in time(end up with some parts I wouldnt use but for a few weeks, b4 swapping in the flip kit and shackle stuffs), I'm not sure it wouldn't be wise to wait. :-( lol. Think just the packs and stock shackles would serve me ok for now.. Or best to do at least the lil longer shackle as well (Along with the longer u bolts and bushing and sleeve kit of course) ?

We'll see, and thanx again for all ur input/sharing ur experience with the leafs

Ok, gotcha! Thanks. I will call Scott and get the extended/compressed measurements to compare with the ranchos. Just make aure they're not a hinderance too much. The less to buy the better, for noe. I just know that the shackles can add a bit of lift as well... so not too sure where I'd sit compared to the zuk, but I'm sure itd be more comfy-sitting, if anything, ahahaha.

In other news....
Picked up an SFA last night, in pieces, stripped and complete rebuild goodies included in the sale. This is ideal for me since i would rebuild any solid-front-axle i found...unless i was confident the rebuild was done correctly.

Also, getting over the Flu...fun!

Dropped off my e-locker to get rebuilt by Justice Engineering. I will also be using them to weld my full-float flanges onto the axle housing when they come in. I can weld, and am pretty confident, but when it comes to precision(axles) I'll pay a professional.

Hopefully next week i can start getting my bumper plating cut out.

more to come...

Nice!

Now for a stupid question. I'm guessing that the ifs rear axle housing is for your full float conversion but my question is:

Don't you have an ifs rig right now, so wouldn't your existing housing work? Are you just trying to minimize your down time? Does it have a different size set of gears? Thanks for helping me learn something.

Yes I have an IFS rig, yes the housing is for the full-float. I have to take the axle out anyhow to install the elocker, so for 50$-70$ extra, I can just build a full axle and then swap it it. So yes, it's easier to do the FF and locker install off the truck, not to mention less downtime is also the goal.

And no, there is no stupid questions.

Well.....
My tracking number just arrived for my 3-Link front setup by way of brown santa.

If you are thinking about linking your rig, check out this setup:

I have no affiliation with this company.

Build thread to resume shortly....

^^^ Do you mean tubes? No, I am getting the whole kit, minus the coil-overs...shipping weight was 170lbs...brackets(axle and frame side), heims, limit straps, poly-bumps and DOM tube. I may have to purchase new tube if the lengths included do not fit.

ya, links = tubes + heims (ie- ready to bolt-in)

i just saw on their site that they sell pre-made links as well, so i wasn't sure if you got those, as well. also, what's nice about links is you can run an e-locker without having to trim the bolts and housing

I didn't know a front e-locker had clearance issues with leafs...good to know

Depending on how far forward i push the axle, i should be able to use the included links.

Today the 4Wheel Underground 3-Link system was delivered by brown Santa.... I'll get some pics up, but really it's just parts right now. I am very anxious to get this Sas underway. I still need coilovers.

Rebuilt Warn MX10000

Old Busted

New Hotness

Media Blasted and powder coated the parts. Repacked and greased everything. I think i actually used too much grease....not a huge deal to pull the gear housing off if its too tough to free spool.

Still have to finish the wiring and get the contactor(90-14452) as well as a fair-lead and synthetic rope. I will be making a splice so i can use a remote for the winch and a permanent dash mount control.

Bumper is ready to get cut out, just waiting on a friend for the steel.

Also media blasted the SFA parts. You may notice the hub lock assembly in the pic above waiting to get powder-coated. I still need to order red powder for the hub locks. Not sure yet if i will powder coat of POR-15 the SFA parts(knuckles, hubs, spindles...)

Need to buy a hy-steer kit....like to buy one used.

por-15 is the shizzle. i saw it used once on a skid plate. there were dings and dents from being dragged over rocks, and the paint was still adhering.

i really do like the "new" winch. are you doing the pc'ing yourself?

I love POR-15, the fact that i can grab a brush and touch up my bumper scraps is great since we live in the salt/rust belt. Suspension parts always get rusty and dinged, so i may just POR-15 them so i can apply more as i feel necessary. the SFA will definitely be POR-15'd.

Yes, I am doing my own PCing. However, my oven wasn't big enough to do the winch drum, so i paid thru the nose to have that and the sides done. There was a minimum fee.
