Hey everyone I知 rebuilding my 22RE turbo engine right now and I知 putting together the pistons. After putting on the rings I inspected the pistons and realized I braised the side of a few of them enough to feel it with my nail (in pictures attached) I also noticed a small indent at the bottom that wasn稚 caused by me. I知 on a tight budget and these pistons are hard to come across. the only option Ive found in replacing them is LCE which is gonna run me 400$ with shipping I知 wondering if I知 overthinking the process and it痴 not a huge deal or if at this point I should just toss them and bite the bullet to buy new ones.
if it was mine i'd be looking for areas around the dings that stand proud, like that one nick that's into the edge of the top ring groove... if it's actually impinging into the groove, maybe scrape it down?
