I'm hoping this will result in a steering system that won't bend. I seem to have this knack, however, of not getting things to do what I want them to do.

Or Romulans ...

So - did it stay straight? Think the heating helped?

Yes it stayed straight. VERY happy about that.

I don't know on the heating. It certainly didn't hurt, and actually seemed easier to weld to me. Welds were cleaner looking than most of mine.

As for metallurgical integrity, who knows? I'm 99.9999% sure this is a forged piece, however, so I'm happy about that.

Well if nothing else, you may have a future in sculpting for the dungeons and dragons crowd...

It could be added: "The center-link of destruction"

Looks great!

Sorry I lost track of this thread so I'm a little late to the design party But did you ever notice this old Superlift center link design?

Its held up very well for me over the last 12-13 years. Of course it was designed for a bracket lift, but maybe some ideas could come from it.

Hey Dale,

Yeah, I've seen those before.

Not a bad idea, really. I just didn't think of it.

Good for a version two if its needed. LOL.

SAS would be

900 for a new locker
700 for longs
500 for link material, brackets, and hardware
6-700 for coilovers
200 for gears
120 for new bearings
100 for a driveshaft mod
???? for tires and wheels
5-700 for high steer

and then add 900 if I want to go with a diamond instead of a normal LC front.

Plus, the body is still rough and crappy looking, and I still don't have cup holders!

It needs a lot of work before it can get SAS'd.
True...didn't think of it like that, steering set up looks awesome!

Har har har. I can see I'm going to have to trim down some of the pieces so they look a little less D&D.

Oh? Why do that? You could either wear your reflective shield or cast a psionic spell on the haterz. Less work for you.........

This is the only thing that will "solve" the problems. The issues are less the angle of the TRE's and more the twisting of the centerlink on the pitman and idler arm. Only way to solve it is to stop the twisting, which is what SuperLift did with this design.
